Did I mention I had a Turbografx-16? Yes? OK then, I'm still a bit giddy, I get a jump in my pants whenever I look up and see it sitting there, HuCard on top and single controller port empty because otherwise my nephew will drag the thing off the table. What was I here for again? Oh yeah, Virtual Console.
Its the final week of the Hanabi Festival! I have to say knowing what was coming out this week has dimmed the joy slightly, or have they chucked in a few surprises?
Game 1 - DoReMi Fantasy: Milon's DokiDoki Adventure
SNES - 900 Points
The US have been digging this for a little while and now its our turn. If you're after some good solid platforming then there are far worse options on the VC, the 900 could sting though.
Game 2 - Chase H.Q.
Turbografx-16 - 600 Points
Did I mention I have one of these? OK. This is Chase HQ, pretty much the predecessor to Pursuit Force on the PSP. Its also a freaking riot and a lot of fun when it comes to driving fast and shooting things.
Game 3 - Ys Book 1+2
Turbografx-CD - 800 Points
FUCK YES!! The game that's been taunting me on the future releases list for over a year has finally been released. Some top J-RPG action for those of you either not interested in Mario RPG or that have already finished or just those who have the ability to play 2 big RPGs at once. I'm buying this, I've always been excited by the prospect of having Ys games on the VC and playing them is something I'll be picking up as soon as possible.
Good week, I had a good shift at work today and I'm sitting here with a Turbografx and a beer. It doesn't get much better than this ladies and gentlemen.
