Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

This afternoon Majesco sent over a press release announcing a new game for the Wii, Zoo Hospital, which is set to hit shelves this August. In Zoo Hospital, you play the role of a veterinarian in the hospital of a busy zoo, and as Majesco put it, "the future of the zoo is in your hands." You'll use the Wii Remote to perform surgical procedures on the likes of dolphins, gorillas, and camels.

Now I guess helping a dolphin with its cough sounds kind of endearing; we all know how enamored Destructoid's Chad Concelmo is with the creatures. But there is no way in hell -- videogame or not -- that I am getting anywhere near a gorilla to perform a gallstone removal. And you've got to be psychotic to want to clean a bear's teeth. No thank you very much.

I'd also like to point out that Majesco supplied us with 114 screenshots of Zoo Hospital. One hundred and fourteen images, guys. Usually we'll get five, or 25 at the most. This time, it was 114. Needless to say, we won't be posting them all here, but I've gone ahead and pulled out some choice shots for you guys. Enjoy.

And no, I won't check that lion's tonsils, so stop pestering me about it. [Note: I actually wrote this before going through the 114 screens, and now I realize that I need this game as soon as possible. I now understand why Majesco released so many screens -- they're all awesome, and having to pick the best ones to post was the most difficult thing I've ever had to do for Destructoid.]

The dolphin flopped out on the table is the saddest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. SAVE HER, NICK! :(

Don't you want to play this game as much as I do? It looks so awesome, and I'm not even kidding. Look at those animals! We must save them all, Chad.

Reminds me of this other shitty game I played on the Wii. Except it was humans I was operating on. But I think there was some gay Japanese take on surgery, so there was of course magic and a bunch of other stupid bullshit.

@savagesaladin

I'll assume you're not talking about Trauma Center, because that game was awesome.

This definitely looks interesting... I agree the animals on the tables make me sad, though. :(

I wasn't sold until I went through the screenshots.

Now, I am. Okay, this was the most effective marketing campaign ever.

Imagine the trauma of not saving a dolphin, these games will case more mental damage than GTA and Manhunt combined!

Hopefully you won't have to manually masturbate the animals for breeding purposes. Waggle waggle fap fap.

I was skeptical, saw the Tasmanian devil, and then the sloth, and was hooked. These games almost universally suck, but, dare I say it, this one almost looks good ...

To me, that's exactly what this game looks like: an animal version of Trauma Center. And I agree, I think this will pull a ton of people in. Those pictures were EXCELLENT advertising for Majesco, I think. The human emotional reflex at seeing them is "instant buy to save the poor critters" because no one likes to see an innocent animal suffer. :) I for one can't wait to try it out. If it is anywhere near as good as Trauma Center, then I think they have could possibly have a sleeper hit on their hands just with the emotional impact this could have on people. And, not to mention, that the graphics look pretty sweet. I love how realistic they have the animal (mostly) looking.
