Thousands of campaigns, skins, and weapons to be added

You have to love Valve. Not only does it empower customers with the tools to create unique content for its games, but the company also gives them an easily accessible means in which to share that content with others!

True to form, Valve has taken the Left 4 Dead 2 Workshop out of beta and is ready to share some lovely user-created content with its zombie-loving community; just like any good and decent plague carrier should. So far, the current item count is steadily approaching the 300 mark, but Valve has confirmed that players should see this number hit the thousands in just a matter of weeks.

Adding this new content to your game is as simple launching your Steam client, going to the Workshop section, and hitting the "Subscribe" button on the item's description page. If you were looking to add in your own content to the service, Valve has posted a brief explanation on the process as well as some helpful tips. I can't wait to take on the unending horror of the zombie masses in the fabled lands of Middle-Earth.

It's sad that Australian gamers are only now getting an uncensored version of Left 4 Dead 2, but at least we finally have some closure. After resubmitting the cooperative zombie shooter for classification, Valve is now able t...
As a former Australian resident, one thing I don't miss there was the lack of an R18+ rating for videogames; despite the fact that the R18+ rating has now been introduced, there have still been cuts to games like South Park: ...
This week's challenge is in Left 4 Dead 2, in which I was tasked with completing the first chapter of No Mercy on expert and without any bots to help me. There's a whole load of zombies standing between me and the safe room, the odds are not stacked in my favor! If you've got any ideas for future challenges you'd like me to have a go at, feel free to leave them in the comments!
That's Francis up there. Yeah. At one point in time, he and the other three survivors of Left for Dead looked ... how do I put this politely? Iteration is important, let's just say. Valve has graciously released the original ...
Left 4 Dead 2? It's a fun game. It's made even better thanks to all the amazing mods the community has created. Enjoy this compilation of Teletubbies, raptors, Koopa Troopas, Storm Troopers, cats, Justin Bieber, My Little Pony, Aliens, and so much more craziness. [Thanks, Lucas!]
We've seen what happens when Left 4 Dead 2's survivors make their way into Resident Evil 6, so now it's time for the other side of this Valve/Capcom collaboration to show its stuff. In the video above, we get a brief look at...
Say what?! In a bizarre move, Capcom has announced that it is teaming up with Valve for some playable cross-promotion content between Left 4 Dead 2 and Resident Evil 6. For starters, the cast from Left 4 Dead 2 will be featur...
The Lord of the Rings-inspired Helm's Deep Reborn map for Left 4 Dead 2 really was one of the highlights of my journey through the Steam Workshop. It's nice, then, to see a nod from the team at Valve -- the Survival mode-only...
Valve has released an Expanded Mutation System for Left 4 Dead 2, which will first be available with a beta release before wider distribution. Essentially, this is an improved scripting system that will allow modders "to go p...
Mods are hardly new for Left 4 Dead 2, but now that Valve has added full Steam Workshop support, it's easier than ever to find and install user-created content. Literally, it's as easy as locating a promising-looking mod with...
