Zeno Clash is getting the sequel treatment photo

It's not very often that the announcement of a sequel to a videogame puts a smile on my face, but then again Zeno Clash isn't your average game. While developer ACE Team is still hard at work on pumping out free downloadable content, the studio has entered into the planning stage for its next project, Zeno Clash 2.

Besides seeing the return of a few familiar faces like Ghat, Father Mother, and Golem, the sequel will continue after where Zeno Clash's storyline left off. ACE Team has gone on the record to say that the new game will have "open ended gameplay with large explorable environments and RPG elements."

But of course, the fantastic melee combat from the first game isn't going away for Zeno Clash 2. The fighting system will "be expanded to feature even more brutal and engaging gameplay" for the next installment, according to the developer.

And as I mentioned above, the free Zeno Clash DLC is going to keep on coming. A new update for the title went out today, and it brings Health and Time counters to Challenge Mode, among other things. If you still aren't sure what the game is even about, check after the break for a post-launch trailer.

I hope they learned from their mistakes from the first game and fix that before moving on to make a sequel.

I thank you for bringing my attention to this game.
I just installed Steam again (not had it since HL2 came out) just to get this game.

Looks odd, original and deserves to be supported. Everything the next American McGee game should have been.

Glad to hear it. I had a fun time going through their first installment. Such a very unique experience, and I loved the music.

Thanks for reminding me of that Demtor. The music WAS exceptionally primal sounding. Music that would go well with Berserk :P

@Mozgus. The Melee combat was very visceral. I actually lovved it.

PLEASE fix the voice acting though. Some of the characters are good, like Father Mother, Gat, and The Hunter, but other then that. please switch them up.

GONNA SHOOT YA got VERY annoying in that 3 on 1 battle. Ugh.
