Zeno Clash coming to XBLA!?!

Zeno Clash coming to XBLA!?! photo

Long time readers will know of the tremendous support we've given ACE Team's Zeno Clash over the past year. I've wanted to play that game for the longest time, but since my poor little laptop is chock full of work stuff, I never did get the bizarre PC game and I wept. No longer, however, shall I cry, for it has just been revealed that the game is working its way towards an XBLA release! Yay!

Just in case you didn't know, Zeno Clash casts you as a rebellious child of the insane hermaphrodite known as Father Mother. The XBLA version is not 100% confirmed yet, but ACE Team is close to a deal, and has promised that the console version will come with extra content.

"We've been having conversations about a possible XBLA version of the game and we're currently talking with a publisher, but we still haven't closed that yet. But it's something we'd really like to do," states ACE co-founder Carlos Bordeu.

ACE Team is looking at XBLA specifically because the Source Engine is suited to the 360 and it would make porting the game easier. I really, really hope this happens, since Zeno Clash is a game I'm dying to play, and having it conveniently stored on my Xbox 360 would be more than I could ask for.

Make this happen, somebody!

This is really great news. I, too, have been aching to play this, but stymied by a substandard PC. Well, that and an inability to teach my hands how to use the keyboard and mouse to play games. Trust me, I've tried.

That would be cool. I have a feeling this game would play better with a controller.

Imagine the Xbox Live stereotypical community on this...It'll either sell badly, sell amazingly well, or sell amazingly well with the single most deliciously crafted multiplayer where 10 year olds will scream for their mother(father).

THIS IS HORRIBLE NEWS!

Why? Because I was about to buy the PC version off of Steam. Now what do I do? Still buy the PC version or wait for the "extra" content?

*sigh*

I'm so so so confused. One of the main development goals was to create a new, unique melee fighting experience for a keyboard and mouse setup. I have a feeling that the INSANE amount of headbob, and camera movement when hit will drive any dual-analog user crazy.
But then again... people play TF2 on the 360 too....

@DeusPayne
Have you ever played Call of Duty? I've noticed more head bobbing on console-centric FPSs than PC-centric FPSs.

Oh cool, I hope this does get released on XBLA. I was watching a feature for it somewhere (I think it was Area5 Media's Co-Op show) and it looks really cool and bizarre. Can't wait!

I wondered what happened to this game. Forgot what it was called, thanks for the heads up.

Choing!

Sweet! If this game comes to Live I will buy it, no question. This is the kind of unique looking project that the industry really needs, and maybe a few less grizzled space marines while we're at it. Go Valve!

I bought this on Steam, but I'd love to play it on XBLA. I still prefer using a controller and (sadly) I'm a sucker for achievements.

I've been more than curious about this game since I've read about it here on Destructoid. I would definitely pick this up if it came to XBLA!

The game is okay, although the first person perspective is a bit annoying since you're pretty much meleeing people most of the time.

I hope they're reading this. Please come to XBLA! The weirdness of it all intrigues me.

If they use a standard fps control scheme, I think it'll be a nightmare to play.
In particular I thinking about the way you change targets and pick up weapons that often get knocked out your hands.
