Zeno Clash brings forth more bizarre imagery photo

As some of you may remember, we've been posting coverage of a very bizarre looking source-powered first person PC game known as Zeno Clash. As a fan of all things f*cked up, I really am interested in how this odd title is doing, and developer ACE Team were all kind to let us know.

"The development of the game is coming along nicely," explains ACE Team. "We’re close to reaching Alpha status. The game is looking great, but we’re still working around some rough corners & adding more depth to the combat mechanics. We already have two boss sequences working; one that is built around shooting “things” that parachute (we don’t want to tell too much still) and the other fighting against heavy characters using bashing weapons. They’re both really fun to play and the new mechanics will add more variety to the gameplay."

"The next trailer video will display some of these new features, but we’re still waiting for a higher level of polishment before we show them. So stay tuned for future updates!"

It's been a while since I played something freaky, which is why I find Zeno Clash so appealing. Nice to know that a few developers are still offering something a bit more offbeat.

I thought you didn't play PC games?
There's something intriguing and attractive about that screenshot. I think it's whatever that thing is that's where that other thing's head should be. It looks like something that I'd enjoy killing.

"I thought you didn't play PC games?"

My PC sucks, so I can't really. I'm hoping to have a better ability to play PC games before Zeno Clash is out though.

I keep forgetting about this game - I love it! When I play it eventually, it'll be a totally unexpected, freaky experience. Thanks for staying on top of it Jim.

Does that screen shot happen often in the game? Because I won't be able to resist a good round of nutpunching.

I'm really REALLY hoping this game is like Serious Sam or Painkiller.

@sillytuna

it's not the nuts i'm worried about; it's the chafing. If they're willing to put textures in to denote chafe, then there's no stopping the madness!

One of the most gorgeous games in production. It's only supposed to be short (6 hours they estimate) but that works for me and god I'm such a sucker for their aesthetic style.

@brainderailment: viceversa would be more accurate :)

@turbospaz: i'm hoping this will not be like painkiller. if it has to be like something else, then i'd choose beyond good & evil. seems to me they'd make better use of the source engine by adding some questing elements to it, than just giving you weird stuff to shoot at. maybe someone(me) wants to talk to the freaks..before shooting them.
