I'm a bit late at getting this up, but I had to bring everyone's attention to Zen Albatross's set at MAGFest. MAGFest had a huge Chiptunes component to it and not only did Zen (that's him above) perform in the show, but he also opened up the entire thing with a talk on Chiptunes.
Having little to no knowledge of Chiptunes it was an awesome introduction to the scene and the music. He talked about what Chiptunes was all about. It was really interesting to see that this tiny style of music had grown so big since its birth and how people were expanding and changing the idea of what Chiptunes music is. Definitely drove me to dig deep into the music in general. Did you know they've technically had Chiptunes music for over half a century?
Below are some pics of the concerts that went down taken byEmi Spicer. You can also check out a video of Zen's kicking set. And if you want start digging into Chiptunes a bit more yourself then Zen's website is a great place to start.
