While everyone waits for Destructoid's ultimate list of year-end awards (and honestly the only one that matters), have a look at what G4 put together for X-Play. They just sent us over the winners, so prepare to duke it out with your fellow fanboy.

Dead Rising 'could' have been the best game of the year if Capcom had made it a little less stressful to play, a little easier to read on standard televisions, and actually made the ending worth seeing.

Other than that -- cutting up some zombies has never been better.

yeah man fighting games were dull....sad...i still play soul calibur 2 hoping someone can get there act together soon.

but i completely agree with this list.even though source of it has gone down this past year its still a good list.

zelda is fun and enjoyable but after I play through it once I don't feel like comeing back to play again

I'm not sure how Dead Rising beat out Okami for original game. I like it and all, but there have been zombie games before. Of course it could be argued that Okami was just a Zelda game on the PS2, but still. Then again, that makes this whole comment practically moot.

Guess there's some Wii love over at G4...

I mean, there is NO way that anyone could justify DBZ as best fighter of the year. Even DBZ fans realize that their games aren't all THAT great.

Aparently, no one at G4 has played Tekken:DR for PSP. Not only the best fighter on PSP but easily the best fighter released this year. It's a portable that's better than CONSOLE fighting games for god's sake!

And yes, Okami should be SOMEWHERE on that list. I don't care if they have to make another catergory specifically for it, Okami is hands down one of the best games of the year. Clover Studios puts out pretty much nothing but gems and gets nothing but crap from the world. Now they don't even exist anymore.

Not sure I agree with a lot on this list, but that's a whole lotta Wii on there. I didn't see any PS3. Is this all the categories? Were there any "technical merit" awards? Certainly PS3 could have won for "Best Multithreaded CPU" or perhaps, "Most Massive Media Format"? Oh wait, we care about the games. Never mind.

As far as the DBZ game getting best fighter of the year, I actually heard it was pretty good. And honestly, did any other fighters even come out this year? I mean besides Mortal Kombat: I Haven't Cared About This Series Since 1993 Edition.

I actually have DBZ on Wii and it is a lot of fun, but unless there weren't a lot of good fighting games this year, I don't think it's highenough quality to make #1. The fighting is fun, but it's just DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 1 which is just DBZ:Budokai 3 which is just DBZ: Budokai 2 which is just DBZ: Budokai.

The motions controls are a little unresponsive but still loads of fun. When/if you get bored of the motion controls, you also have the option of using the Gamecube/Classic controllers which actually gives it a few positive points.

This is a surprisingly good list and Twilight Princess most certainly deserved Game of the Year. I guarantee you that in ten years, Zelda will still hold up.

Wow...no Sony love at all from the folks over at X-Play, huh? I�d take Guitar Hero II by a landslide over Wii Sports as the Best Party Game any day � at least its visuals (even when using composite cables) don�t cause retinal damage. Plus, it�s legitimate fun to watch other people play the game, all the while thinking to yourself, �I could totally do better than that!� And Okami absolutely takes the cake for Best Original Game...killing zombies isn�t a novel concept, but a celestial brush definitely is. Otherwise, though, I agree with their choices...
