A Nintendo game entering the "finishing touches" phase is an Obsidian game 6 months after release a string of major patches, and a 2 gigabyte fan modification to fix everything that's still broken.
I never really tried to really understand or connect the different Zelda storylines.
What I love most about Zelda is the feeling of being in a living world, where all the things and details you see actually matter. An example for the opposite is Final Fantasy (just finished IV on the DS), where there's just too much of everything all the time, to the point that nothing feels special anymore. Giant crystals, tons of goddesses, flying ships, time warps, lasers, flying castles, spells here and there, elves trolls dwarfs humans... It's the complete overkill. In a Zelda game, they start slowly, putting attention to tiny details, and save the big fireworks for special occasions.

Since this game takes place before OoT, wouldn't Ganondorf be more a tiny baby man or be yet in development?

Are you guys seriously asking for GC controller support? You DO know the games combat is all about using MotionPlus and attacking at the correct angle, right?
For everyone who says Skyward Sword is coming after E3 because Ocarina of Time is coming after E3 and the conference said SS comes after OOT, don't jump to conclusions. Remember, that was a JAPANESE conference about JAPAN'S release titles. What Reggie said about Zelda OOT coming after E3 has nothing to do with the conference. Now, usually Nintendo is good at localizing games around the world at the very same time. Since OOT is expected for a Spring (Probably April) release in Japan, I can see Skyward Sword in May. The finishing touches they are talking about probably include minor bug fixes and final translations, so I am almost sure Skyward Sword will release in all 3 regions at around the same time. So my guess is that Skyward Sword is coming out May.
I hope the game doesn't look like that. But it will.
I disliked Windwaker's artstyle for its simplicity. Even Majora's Mask looked better and more detailed except the shadows, resolution and framerate. I even got annoyed by how the game made greater timestops or whatever when you hit your target with a sword.
WW was so annoying for me, although I got all the usable items in it... I didn't get all the statues for that Nintendo Club guy or whoever though, nor the heartpieces. It took too long to get even one picture done, and I think there were more than 100 characters to get statues of. Oh, the hell of that.
And I really didn't feel like sailing with that small boat listening to the same old boring song over and over again while the island I was headed to got closer and closer, just to get a heartpiece.
... Jeez.

And if I'd need to think which controller scheme feels better and works better for items, I'd say it's the GC controller. Wii's controller just pretty much sucks and the lag of the cursor in TP... it was horror.
