Zelda Gold Cartridge bag is so chic photo

Seriously, if I wasn't a woman, I'd probably march straight to the parts doctor and get a vagina installed so I could carry this amazing bag. I'd buy gold shoes to match this bag. I'd ride a golden chocobo to the ends of the earth to dig this bag out from a treasure chest buried in the deepest recesses of Atlantis. Anyway, you get the picture. It's sold at Hot Topic, which is not good, but you can mail order one and avoid actually entering the store, which is good. Maybe you can even bribe the postman to cover the Hot Topic label up with something more respectable, like Sheep Weekly.

I just have to ask because this has been bugging me on several occasions. Why do you act like Hot Topic is evil? I work there and am a hard core gamer, periond, not some vampire freak. Everyone acts like ht is only about emo shit and kids that cut themselves. Was it a couple years ago? Yea, but its more diverse than that.

@.tiff
Seriously shut up. You have no idea what you are talking about. ht bastardizing something you love? Oh wait lets see, the only reason that there is a product like this is because Nintendo ALLOWED for it to be made. Nintendo (as well as many other companys) license out their ips to others, who then make the products. And where do they end up? In a store that just cause some emo kids like to hang around (we all hate them btw) has to be a shitty place.

To say ht destroys cult classics or underground culture is bullshit. Blame the creators for selling out if you think its so awful that you can buy some pretty sweet stuff.

HAHAHA! that just makes me laugh. are you 13? get over yourself. it's a mall store for cliche mallrats. tiff is the shit, you must really like her to nitpick at her comments. anyways, hot topic is just as ready to be critisized as any store that hoards goth music and has a shitty selection.

granted yes, they have some cool stuff once in a while, but music wise? they're horrible. last time i went in they had little cloths that go around your wrist for nearly 10 dollars. that's sad.

this is just my personal opinion, i used to buy band shirts i couldn't find anywhere else back in the day. and they carry some good comic books every once in a while. but other than that it's another store that's just in it for the money. not to mention everyone wears the stuff anyways, so what's great about that? people will continue to have their own opinion about things, and sorry that their opinion differs from yours. we must not be good enough if we don't like the same things as you.

Colette Bennett is so chic. If I order you one of those Zelda bags, will you please hang out with me? I'll take you to school in Dr. Maro.

To weigh in on the Hot Topic debate, this might make me sound like an old fogey, but I remember when I was in high school, we didn't have the convenience of stores like Hot Topic. If we wanted to get a Clash tshirt we had to mail order it from a store in the back pages of MRR. If you walked around wearing something cool, it was because you worked hard to find it. It kind of showed your devotion. If a tshirt's design had faded and started to peel, it was because you loved the tshirt enough to wear it into the ground.

My personal distaste over Hot Topic isn't a problem with the store itself as much as it's mourning the loss of certain signifiers. I also think it's bit ridiculous to sell so much Anarchy merchandise when your story pretty much represents the essence of capitalism. Anarchism will probably never be accepted as a viable political form of organization, but having proto-fascist teeny boppers wearing anarchy tshirts in the mall definitely doesn't help the cause.

Of course, I myself am willing to instantly sacrifice all my beliefs to get my hands on one of those mind-numbingly awesome Zelda bags.

Thank you to the people who actually commented with your opinions rather than flame.

I'm just trying to say why do people keep having a biased opinion on something they don't understand.. (okay i just read my sentence and i know the answer. Thats just the way humans behave)

Are some things overpriced? Yeah, but is that the only store that does something like that? No.

Do they occasionally get cool things? Yes. So why does one have to act like its horrible pain just to go there? Its just a store.

@ Tristero
I understand you completely. On the ht website (surfing while bored at work) it even talks about how they founded the store so people wouldnt have to do all that. So I can see how it takes the fun and pride of actually ordering the stuff.

Maybe its just me and my mall but we have no anarchy stuff. ht doesnt really carry that stuff anymore. Sure their are the occasional kids like that, but not that many. (maybe you guys just live near all them anarchists ;P )

Colette sorry for causing a stir, but I just couldnt help myself. I guess the message I just really want to get out is, people should be a little more open. :)

oh and we hate all those mallrats/emo/anarchist kids as much as you guys do. :P

I will rage against all the haters and say, I LOVE HOT TOPIC! Actually, not really, but they do have some cool video game shit there, and that is more than worth going to the store for. Granted, the people that work there often scare me, but they are nice when i spend $100 on mario crap and zelda hoodies...I get my video game clothing fix wherever i can get it...lol...

There was a time when I'd buy shirts from hot topic.
Unfortunantly, I have entered the world of professional soul selling (AKA I have to work now) and can no longer.
Also I grew up ^_^
