As if the leaked screenshots hadn't already confirmed it, it does indeed appear that the still-unannounced Xbox LIVE Arcade port of Sega's Sonic Adventure is headed our way.
Destructoid reader Damon sent along word that the XBLA version of the title was recently reviewed in the latest issue of the UK magazine, 360 Gamer. According to the review, the game is a "no frills" port of the main game featured in Sonic Adventure DX, the enhanced GameCube update of the original title.
The reviewer was mostly unimpressed by the port of the game that originally appeared on the Dreamcast back in 1998, saying it "really hasn't aged well."
"It's not all bad," writes reviewer Mark Podd, who gave the game a 5 out of 10, "but if your idea of a decent Sonic game is watching the Blue Spiky One charging across a 2D landscape, you'd be best advised to give this one a miss."
The review's details list a "to be confirmed" price and release for the XBLA title, which has yet to be announced by Sega at the time the magazine hit newsstands.
[Thanks, Damon!]
I mean, you could buy a gamecube and DX for less then the arcade version- and it's the better value.
Never played the Gamecube version.
Just all the other Dreamcast games I want to see on XBLA.

The only parts I really enjoyed were Sonic/Shadow, and Tails (in both games)/Gamma. I hated the treasure hunt stages. Amy's "run from Zero" stages weren't really great, and I don't need to say anything about Big. I honestly would've liked if Tails and Knuckles got actual platforming stages to contrast with Sonic's speed setup. You know, as opposed to "play a part of a Sonic stage but go as fast as you can" and "go play in the dirt for a while."
What's sad is that the most fun I've gotten out of SADX was glitching Tails and Knuckles into Sonic's stages. =\
D:
Makes my penis happy.
I disagree, actually - I've played through both versions dozens of times each, and the GameCube one has FAR fewer issues than the Dreamcast one. But the Dreamcast glitches rocked, and I missed them.
Also, if I have to hear that final boss rock theme one more time. I'm gonna ragequit life.

:P
And I kinda like the pre-Secret Rings music, if only as a guilty pleasure. After that it went from guilty pleasure, to just bad. Say what you will.
