Despite my love for the originals, I fear that a HD collection would only scare away new fans due to the shotty controls and pacing, a total reboot that is self contained sounds like the best shot for commercial victory.
Its great that Yu Susuki is still passionate about this fantastic series and I hope for the sake of all us that he prevails
Id suck THREE dicks on Christmas for Shenmue 3
On the other hand I don't know why he didn't follow in the footsteps of some of his former Sega companions like Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Yuji Naka and leave Sega to start his own gaming company. He is wasting his talent!
I don't care if it comes out on next-gen systems.
I just want confirmation that it is in development.
i would pay $200 for a collector edition with the first games with new graphics
How SWEEEEET would that be!?
One can only hope.
And an HD Collection of the first 2 titles before launch would be pretty slick.
I guess that makes the Dreamcast the "PlayStation 1.5"?
Xbox and Xbox 360 =/= Sega, it had to take the 360 being coloured white several years later before you lot took notice of the coincidental similarities, get over it guys.
For me, it wasn't some sort of novelty of 'look I can pick up a pan' or 'look a kitten in a box' that made me enjoy the game. It was feeling like you were seeing a real city through Ryu's eyes, as an incredible story unfolded around you. Not everyones cup of tea for sure, but I wouldn't say that everyone who loved it and wants part 3 is looking through rose colored glasses. We just want closure for a story that we really love.
This is why I couldn't understand why people keep saying "...so Suzuki can get to making Shenmue 3".. Even if all it was was wishful thinking it wasn't like the guy has the rights to do it.
HD remakes and sequel plz.
