MS Xbox World has gotten their hands all over SNK's upcoming NeoGeo Battle Coliseum for Xbox Live Arcade. They have a few videos you can download showing off some cinematics, the character select and the Achievements for the game. Above, you can watch various fighters from the SNK universe battle it out.
As GamerBytes points out, the sprites have been improved for the XBLA release and the game is presented in widescreen. I'm really digging the way the game is looking. Sadly, Battle Coliseum is only slated for a Japanese release later this year. No word on a European or American release, but fingers crossed we hear something soon.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Meet the rest of the team
That's weird, I thought that in NGBC the match was won or lost when one of the two on a team got knocked out--you didn't have to eliminate the entire team. Did I just remember it wrong?
YES! If they fixed the control issues I kept having with the other SNK fighting games I downloaded (Garou/Samurai Showdown 2/KoF98), I'll be online on this non-stop. Didn't have many people to play against when this was on the PS2, so am looking forward to the competition on XBL!
Sweet, NGBC on XBLA. Now I won't have to fight with my PS2 to get to read the CD to play this anymore. (Sadly, most, if not all of the SNK Playmore games on the PS2 don't work right with HD loader)
My only worry with this game is the online netcode that they're going to use with this port. Will it be as bad as their last couple of efforts with Samurai Showdown 2, Garou, KOF98 UM, and KOFXII, or will they actually code something that isn't laggy.

That's in single-player arcade mode, where you have to just take out one character as fast as possible. In versus mode, it's always been a traditional tag elimination.

Ryo has made appearances before as "Mr. Karate II", in games like Buriki One.
It's possible that he replaced his father, due to his father's ailing health. If I recall correctly, Takuma had a heart attack or something in KOF2003.
"We have had the "tobacco fight" in our Supreme Court of Canada: the government lost. Soon we will have the "gun fight": and, my bet, is that government will lose again.

Well, with all respect, I do not think the Phaistos Disk has to be something from the Trojan era since it dates back no less than 1000BC. I think it must have been written by civilizations from other celestial systems such as the ones described in the Ancient

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Also, bring KOFXI to PSN/XBLA. Loved it on PS2, but I still wanna play it online.

You need JP MS points too. Good luck with that, had to do it to get MBL for Deathsmiles. Pain in the dick.
