Easy To Misspell Odyssey is back again, bringing classic JRPG to the DS again with ocean-y exploration action installed. Oceans and mazes and maps -- Mmmmm! It's been a few years since we've played an EO game, so it feels like it's about due.
Atlus will have Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City ready for us this September. For now, we have a fresh batch of screenshots that they sent along today. Just about all of the screens they sent show the ocean setting, and they all somehow still manage to look maze-y!
Any EO fans out there that are ready to jump in again?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Is it so hard that people who aren't the best at RPGs can still play it, or am I not hardcore enough?
Around floor 30 of EO2, the bosses were impossibly stronger than your party, and the worst part is that there was nowhere left to grind for decent XP. I could walk through almost all of the floors prior with little difficulty, but to actually level up enough to take on that boss, I think I would have to grind for about a week straight. That's not even including making any backup party members beyond your initial group of 5. I want it to be tough, but not poorly planned.
Anyone know if/when this is coming out in Europe and who (if anyone) is publishing?
Its really only "JRPG" in the sense that is made in Japan, its a classic western RPG at its core. I'm actually rather happy to see this series succeed like it has on DS and see games like this still happening. SMT aside, its games like this that make me love Atlus, they have a genuine appreciation for the roots of RPGs.
Plus the music for this series is great, its some of the most atmospheric stuff you'll hear on a DS.
but damn... I haven't finished either I or II (-_ -; )
I hope EO3 doesn't mess up the balancing.
