YOU GOT THE TOUCH! Greatest song ever coming to Guitar Hero? photo

My wife insists that "The Touch" is made famous by Boogie Nights, but every worthy geek primarily knows the world's rockingest tune from Transformers: The Movie, and the epic battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Anybody who doesn't think of that when they hear this song is GAY, obviously, and should be shunned by society.

The latest rumor is that "The Touch" will be coming to Guitar Hero as free DLC, thanks to Stan Bush, the man responsible for the song. Bush informed a Transformers fan site that the song was coming, making this the greatest day in American history. We have no confirmation from Activision yet, but Stan Bush won't let us down. After all, he has the touch AND the power. Nobody's going to mess with him.

This event ranks up there with the Moon landing and Obama's inaguration. Humanity itself has been redefined.

Awwwww yeah! I remember a petition or something going around for its inclusion in GH. I may just have to buy this game, and relive my childhood a little :)

I hope they don't get it. It's too good of a song to have them wreck it with their awful charting/drums/everything.

As a kid living through the 90's, now that I look back, I fucking hate everything about the 90's. Except saturday morning cartoons, those were cool.

The "world's rockingest tune from Transformers: The Movie" was "Dare to be Stupid". I am ashamed of all of you.

How the fuck can you people think this song is good by any stretch of the imagination? It's a lame 80s pop ballad.

This is a defining moment in the history of the entire universe. I know now, together, as one race anything is attainable. Thank you Activision and Stan.

"This event ranks up there with the Moon landing and Obama's inaguration."

I know that's hyperbole, but I don't think it would be a good thing for Obama's legacy for just becoming president to be his greatest achievement.

I mean think about it. "Obama... was the first black president."

"And did he actually do anything?"

I hope he will do better. I just don't like jinxing it by acting as though this is already something huge.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Fuck Boogie Nights. Boogie Nights don't know nothin'. Transformers: The Movie, that's where it's at. Most of the movie's soundtrack would make for awesome Guitar Hero/Rock Band material. Only the uneducated masses sup from the trough of Boogie Nights, in order to satiate their hunger for Stan Bush.

That song better be available to "RB2" on the Wii, damn it! If they made the whole soundtrack available, it would be the first time that I ever splooged just by looking at my screen with no other stimuli.

TheTaj is right, in my opinion at least. It isn't remarkable in lyrics, singing, guitar, drums... anything. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but coupled with how boring of a song it is, I don't see the excitement. Nostalgia, perhaps.

Well, good for those who like it.

Also, I'd think if we were going with cartoon themes/songs (even though this is the movie, whatever), I'd put the Power Rangers theme, Pepper Ann, and the pokemon theme, however unlikely.

Can it TheTaj and Rockefellow. You just don't get it.

A lot of the appeal comes from how it is used in the movie. Watch the scene here.

It should really be titled "Optimus Prime's Theme". A true hero. Neva 4get, or I'll "rip out your optics"

Also, 80's power ballads are always fun. Always.

You know what I reckon is going to happen, this will come out around the time the New Transformers movie comes out and be in a transformers pack, songs from the 1986 movie, Hunger, Dare, The Touch, Instruments of Destruction, Never Gonna Stand in our Way & The best good damn Intro theme of any cartoon in the awesome 80's hair metal movie version.

I would like never stop playing Guitar Hero, EVER if that happens.

I would blow up Cybertron to have this song in Rock Band, along with Lion's cover of the Transformers theme. What the heck kind of sense does this make, anyway? Paramount is releasing the Transformers movies, and their parent company (Viacom) owns Harmonix... How hard should it be to get some rockin' Transformers tunes into Rock Band over Guitar Hero?
