How frequent is posts and comments about MLP? It seems like it's about one post a week and like comments about ponies mostly pops up in the comments section of these posts. Am I right? If so, then it's hardly something to get upset about. I for one feel that the pony-posts makes Destructoid about 20% cooler.

If I remember correctly, there was a short time after a redesign of the site that there was an edit button for like the first five or ten minutes or something.

I stopped reading Kotaku entirely because of the amount of off-topic nonsense they posted. As fond as I've grown of Destructoid, I won't hesitate to do the same with this site if that starts to become the case here as well. So sure, flaunt that you don't need our "permission" to post whatever you want, and revel in the fact that you've prompted yet another precious comment on your article, but I suspect that taking on a belligerent attitude and trying to troll your readers isn't a great long-term strategy.

that strategy worked for Jim Sterling, but only because his trolling was creative and funny. ponce's trolling is neither of those things. i've not taken the time to complain about this stuff when it's been posted before, but frankly it's got to the point where i'm tired of seeing posts about a little girl's tv show on a videogame site. i'm now going to not only ignore those posts, but all of tony ponces posts, and i advise you to do the same.

But uh, yes, a serious note on Ponies and Destructoid. There's what, a a single MLP article every week. Like any article on Destructoid, you are in no way obliged to look at it. When I see an article about JRPG's, I don't look at it because I hold little interest in JRPG's. But it seems different with ponies. The 13 year-old residents of Destructoid seem to go hilariously out of their way to read Pony articles and post venomous comments about bronies.
Perhaps my favourite arguement is the one about Bronies spamming shit everywhere. If anypony, anypony can find me a non-pony article that features ponies being spammed, link it to me. The bronies on this site are well behaved and respect the individual tastes of others, and hence, ponies don't leak over into random areas. Yet people complain about ponies being spammed inside a PONY article. It's ridiculous.
Rant over; eagerly awaiting the next round of pony-trolling.

Anger towards a pony post is proof positive that some people still care too much about being seen as "adult" or "mature." I thought we were grown-ups who understood that tastes are subjective and something as harmless as a video involving a children's cartoon is no cause for alarm.

Tony, that's not the problem. The problem is that Ponies are just being posted because "lol vidyagaems in it". The LMFAO fad just ended, where people made remixes with Party Rock Anthem and assorted VG tunes. People would be pissed if that was getting posted.
Granted, the Rhythm Heaven graphics replaced with MLP graphics is impressive (I'm assuming that it was a hack and not just done in Adobe Flash), but this is just a redub. You can't just post it because it has ponies in it, especially if it's just to piss off non-fans.

It gels so well since the episode's funniest moment was Pinkie annoying Applejack with chatter. I surprised it works even as a gaming meme video.
As for the pony hate, I think some people still sees MLP as am easy target due to its girly visuals. All this continued shock that adult fans enjoy it is why they do mashup vids all the time. Just treat it like any other popular thing. It's not so hard to ignore and move on. People still quote Spongebob or TF2 references and it fazes almost anybody because people learned to ignore. Eventually pony fandom will be treated like any other fandom.
