Dead Island 2

You could theoretically make Deep Silver package a real zombie with Dead Island 2 Collector's Edition

Dead Island 2You could theoretically make Deep Silver package a real zombie with Dead Island 2 Collector's Edition photo

Remember the last time we talked about a Dead Island collector's edition and it was a disembodied female torso? I don't think Deep Silver wants to go that route this time, so they're turning to the community to find out what people want from a Dead Island 2 Collector's Edition. Is there an option for less zombie games every year? That's what I vote for.

I kid, but if you want to participate, voting is now available via a Google Docs survey and runs through July 14 at midnight. Out of the 28 items that are available, there are actually some cool-sounding doodads that you can vote for, including a giant diorama, character figurines, a beach towel, and "a real zombie." That's gonna bankrupt Deep Silver, I'd reckon.

Dead Island 2 PAX impressions

Having only seen Dead Island 2 and not played it yet, I'm in agreement with Max here. It does look like a decent-enough zombie game, and a much better take on the property than Riptide .. but it's still Dead Island. There comes a point at which you've simply had enough. The southern California setting and warm tones are lovely, though. Big fan of those.more

California is not an island, but here are my Dead Island 2 impressions

You'll be able to explore Los Angeles, Santa Monica, some beaches, a golf course, and maybe even more in the final version of Dead Island 2. But what Deep Silver was showing at gamescom 2014 was pretty limited. I only got to run around a small, closed-off section of the Los Angeles suburbs. It was a short taste of what the Southern California zombie-slaughtering life is like. more

Explode zombie heads into raspberry jam with Dead Island 2

This game is a bloody messy. In a good way. I've never been too keen on Dead Island, but maybe with Spec Ops developer Yager on Dead Island 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One), this will make for a good time. Maybe some white ph...more

Dead Island 2 wants to be cool and kickass

The debut of Dead Island led us to believe that it would tell a very dramatic and serious story about the horrors of the zombie apocalypse. That’s not quite the game we ended up with, so it’s refreshing to know th...more

Video: Dead Island 2 E3 2014 impressions

Huh. I missed that Spec Ops: The Line studio Yager is handling development on Dead Island 2. That knowledge combined with the excellent CG trailer has me mildly interested. Here's Max sharing his thoughts after seeing an ear...more

Review: Ironfall: Invasion

Developing a Gears of War-like cover shooter for Nintendo 3DS is unconventional, but that's just what VD-Dev did with Ironfall: Invasion. Featuring both local and online multiplayer, as well as an 11-stage campaign, the project seems fairly ambitious for the handheld, and as you'd expect, there are mixed results. While multiplayer turned out well enough, the campaign is a mess.more

Far Cry 4 somehow gets more dangerous in Valley of the Yetis

If Far Cry 4's jaunt through Kyrat serves as any indication, the Himalayas are an incredibly dangerous place. Whatever isn't trying to maul you is trying to shoot bullets at you. It's like being caught between a rock and a h...more
