I have my Collector's Edition ordered already. Now I just have to get a PC that can actaully run it well...
I'm a much bigger fan of purchasing than pre-purchasing. I'll be interested when they have a release date. I'm not liking this "pay to get in the beta" deal.
So I did that ^^^. Request... lets pick a server ahead of time and all jump on it as a community. SWTOR was a cluster fuck, Jim announced Dark Reaper after a week of pre order play and everyone getting on and putting 50 hours on characters.
I announced my preload server as Tarro Blood and a handful of us went to it from the forums. Otherwise it was all scattered everywhere.
I say we create a guild: "Destructoid Academy" or something of that nature... it'd be rad. Yep we should do that.

Interesting enough, people seem to think that they'll be in the beta every weekend.....but the FAQ says they will happen about once a MONTH.....soo...you might get, what....2-3 chances to play?

Man, the $70 extra dollars to go from Digital Deluxe to Collector's edition just doesn't seem worth it. I really want that figurine, but I would be skeptical to pay $100 for the whole thing, let alone $150!!
Also, I think this will be the most enticing D3 competitor, especially since it is modeling itself after DAoC's RvR. Mmmm, RvR.

Nah, I'm cool. If I wanted to play a non-MMO online RPG I would play The Old Republic. Thanks. I'll stick to getting WoW when the new xpac comes out.
Stayed up until 8am yesterday morning to pre-purchase it and I regret nothing! I'm actually genuinely hyped for a game for the first time in forever and I love it, looking forward to seeing you all in beta!

also i agree that this very much is an mmo. they are taking huge steps from the first game, which arenanet didn't even consider an mmo, and taking the mmo genre forward. gw2 as i see it, is the first truly next-gen mmo. it is finally straying from mmo tropes in every area, not just one select area. swtor changed things with a good story system, but everything else is the same. tera is changing things with an awesome combat system, but everything else still feels very mmo. i don't know about you, but i am completely sick of playing games that play exactly like wow. i had a fun run, but i am done with that specific game style. let's hope this is finally the shot in the arm developers need to finally break the wow mold.
I really do want it, but for some reason I don't want to be spoiled by the beta. So I will probably pay for it when the release date is set or when it comes out. The pre-order bonuses just seem too temporary to be worth it.
Correction, all 3 versions give bonuses from the same pool of swag, and some versions have more of it than others.
looks like a good game, but i hate the new $60 price tag on pc games. not going to pay that much, hopefully i can find a better price a few weeks after release

£49.99 seems pretty steep for the digital copy. I dont know what that is in dollars but most if not all retail games release at 39.99 or 44.99 at a push in the UK. I know there's no monthly fee but still.
For a digital copy of a game that will take fudging hours to download, that might not even run so well on my oldish computer, that also doesn't have a release date. I'm afraid i'm out at the moment. But it does look cool.

On top of getting the game when it launches, pre-purchasing the game gets you guaranteed access to the beta weekends as well as a three day head start and an in game item. Standard fare, but enticing nonetheless. There are three versions of the game and they all come with different swag, which you can check out here. 8" android tablets
