I can smell the desperation here. With a lot of their base moving to DoTA2 its hard to see how HoN will survive.
I couldn't get into HoN. It just felt identical to the WC 3 custom map like PrinceHeir said. Didn't feel polished and it was not aesthetically pleasing in anyway. The menus, or the gameplay. I really like the polish of LoL. But according to some that makes me a bad person. Lol.
My biggest problem with f2p are the whiny bitches that expect everything to be free. Developers gotta eat too mofos, and last I checked food ain't free.
Following Dota 2 for awhile now and a lot of HoN players are moving over. Lots of pro HoN teams even, sadly most fail, but still.
I see dota 2 getting big(ger). Valve is doing a lot to make the systems more understandable, without having to read a million page guide book. That plus every hero being free and all cosmetics can be gotten free from just playing. HoN might be down for the count.

HoN is a great game guys you should try it it looks a lot better than the dated wc3 play it with videos ettings and high and everything looks great, the UI is great it does have like dota a step learning curve and is not as casual as LoL, if you like LOL but you think is too easy switch to HoN or DOTA2 but right now HoN is probably the best of the 3
But you know everyone has a favorite y play the 3(hoN, DOTA2 and LoL) :P
Right now the best is HoN but its a lot more punishing that LoL what i didint like about LoL was mostly the UI and the art style but i enjoyed it for introducing new players to the genre and nothing else

I'm more of a League of Legends person but this is an awesome move. Hopefully these changes will cause LoL to reduce their hero prices as well.
Well, I have to congratulate S2 on running the best scam in recent memory. First they sell the game for $30, then they go P2W by selling individual heroes, then once they've made as much money as they can, they release all the heroes to everyone! But it's ok! If you bought overpriced single heroes, like a good chump, you get a free alt avatar for an unpopular hero. Cheers!
ahhh S2 "last chance to get the game cheap" one day later. "play our game because it got free!"... i loved that move... it was just like the classic villains we all love so much

Feels like HoN was just a holding pattern until the DotA remake came out from somewhere, and DotA2 is doing an excellent job at filling that niche. LoL is quite different and has a different pace. This sounds like a desperation move to me.
