The Home public beta starts later this month, even though the full version should have been out by now. If you want to know how people were chosen to participate in the long-delayed PS3 feature, then let Sony explain it to you.
"We had a couple of plans on how that was going to be done," said a Sony rep on the company's forum. "Both were broadly based on the concept of loyalty."
That is quite cryptic, and our very own Joe Burling believes that you had to log in to MetaCritic and give Gears of War 2 a low score in order to be considered. Seriously though, I wonder how the platform holder quantifies loyalty. Number of downloads or hours logged in to the PSN ... or something ... darker?
It's likely something simple, but part of me wishes to believe it actually involved Sony challenging you to commit bloody murder in its name. Just how far are you willing to go to show your allegiance to Sony and its Dark Priest, Tretton the Quasi-Magnificent? Prove yourself, thrall!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Ok it ain't exactly that, but you didn't let me in the beta so what else am I gonna say? Ok...
Cocks.
I live in Europe and didn't get in :(
also, Hachiko<3
i.e. testing the waters and giving your own opinion vs not even playing the damn thing more than once.
But it is an interesting for Sony to say, they based it on loyalty. Hopefully they will elaborate later
Yup
Don't believe me? go check out the home form over at us.playstation.com
I got an email on the 30th telling me that i'd missed the deadline of "by the 28th" to subscribe to qore, to get my guaranteed home beta invite. I was, obviously pissed, so i checked out the forum to see what this was about, and omg, there are so many threads, and pissed off people, lol
the way they handled this was kinda shitty (should have warned people before hand, to at least give them the option to subscribe or not), but hey, it's gonna be released in a few weeks anyway, so whatever..
I have never bought a episode of quore, and received the beta last night.
Because that's what you wrote, dude.....
