Capcom's Yoshinori Ono says that we haven't seen all that the Wii U can do. The famed game creator seems to say that the Wii U we saw at E3 last year, and again at CES this year, is not the final version, and that we should expect other unique possiblities.
NeoGAF translated a report from 3D Juegos, where Ono said: "What was shown at E3 is not a reflection of everything that this console is going to be able to offer. We have been trying the development kits and some of its new characteristics will improve its possibilities. It isn't something like Kinect or similar accessories, it's something different."
Kinect?! Why would he bring up Kinect?
"I can't tell you more about it because, if I do, Nintendo will send assassins to finish me! But let's say that Wii U will be a console with so many unique possibilities that it will be difficult to show them in the box they are going to sell it in, or be published in magazines and other media."
The imagination runs wild at the mention of a feature that would be difficult to show in the box. I'd bet Nintendo has something big up their sleeves for E3 this year.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Or in Japan's case, tentacle hentai super fun time rape.

I knew it.
Pretty sure Nintendo has confirmed heavy third party support
They won't get strong third party support if their console it's as different from the others as wii was, that could be a problem for developers.
That same situation didn't hurt the ds.
Meanwhile gamers will call out the fact that -because no ones supporting these features- the "possibilities" are completely useless and they paid for a system thats only half realized, or that the "possibilities were the whole system" -not unlike they did with the 3D in the 3DS.
"Pretty sure Nintendo has confirmed heavy third party support"
Problem with gamers, despite having access to the internet and whole sites worth of back articles from endless sites that cover these things, is they don't have any sense of history if its further then 6 months back.
Nintendo said the same thing about the Wii before it came out. It was a big selling point for the Wii because the developers were "so excited" over the new way to play games, so Nintendo wouldn't run into the issues the N64 and Gamecube ran into with a lack of games.
Year or so after launch? Most of the developers either pulled their support, or most of the games just plain got canceled, and we were left with mostly Nintendo's usual line up and shovelware, and it hasn't changed, even after quite a few years of giving it a chance because "it could pick up"
Seriously though, I just hope they don't take a page from Squeenix's book and make it more convoluted, like Nintendo Nobis Tu Versus Re:012/2-0 or something.
*if you laughed, you're my friend*
Both @Paroxysm and @BoomingEchoes make excellent points. Big N is already going into this new cycle with a guaranteed drop in sales, since the hype-fueled magpies (read as: the elderly and people who watch oprah) won't be buying this thing like their lives depend upon it, and the hope of 3rd-party support disintegrated DESPITE all those sales, because attach rates (predictably) just weren't there.
