There was minimal 3DS news at Nintendo's E3 direct, but they did squeak out a new trailer for their upcoming Yoshi's Island sequel. The game looks a lot better in motion than it does in screenshots, with a clay + colored pencil style that stays true to the hand-drawn feel of the original.
Other than that, there isn't too much new to see. Still unclear if this game will be more like the near-perfect-original Yoshi's Island or the just pretty good like Yoshi's Story and Yoshi's Island DS. Hopefully the title isn't an indicator of the level of inspiration here. With Nintendo, "new" has become synonymous with "not that new".
