My favorite track off brentalfloss' Bits of Me is definitely "Baby Mario & Papa Yoshi," a ragtime arrangement of Yoshi's Island's "Athletic." In the song, Yoshi decides to take care of the future Mushroom Kingdom hero instead of eating him. However, the music video, animated by Sean DePew, goes a step further and suggests that Yoshi served as Mario's adoptive father right up through adulthood.
And how does Mario repay this love and generosity down the road? By dropping Yoshi in a pit just so he could reach a higher platform. What an ungrateful brat.
