I'm sorry. While I love my PS3 (go ahead, bring it), and I think the upcoming title Haze looks to be good, I'm not feeling this commercial at all. It's not nearly as bad as the Bug Too! promotional video we found awhile back, but it still had me cringing.
Haze's Nectar is a liquid that aids your character as well as other team mates -- think of it as an enhancement drug. In this commercial, they inject it into a PlayStation 3 to bring its price down. A second injection brings the price down a bit more. As the video says: "Wow...amazing."
It looks like we'll still be playing the PS3 in the year 2048, proving that Sony's "long-term" goals for the system were immensely successful. And, the question begs to be asked: didn't Mantel Industries have enough Nectar in stock to get the price lower than that? Oh, and hit the SIXAXIS with some Nectar while you're at it to add in some vibration action. Does it fix RROD on Xbox 360s?
What do you think? Is this a successful commercial? Will it have you picking up a Nectar-enhanced PS3 and Haze?
[Edit: Wait, isn't the first injection's sound effect the BioShock money looting sound?]
and that commerical was crap. I don't know how, but it made me want a PS3 even less.
Ok this is what is really wrong with that commerical. Your trying to sell more PS3s and Haze. But the general public doesn't know WTF a 'Haze' is or nectar. And since they didn't show any game play, how the heck is the general public going to know?
Technically that commerical could have been about any liquid product...
soap
dish detergent
KY Jelly.... the list really goes on.
Kinda dumb, but at least they didn't try to do a movie-style trailer packed with cutscenes. Wonder why they advertised the PS3's price drop more than Haze?
Yea, thats pretty funny add.
I also find it funny that consoles, not just ps3 but 360 etc use FPS games to baost their performance stat. aprt from some exceptions FPS are home at PC not consoles.
Just 2 weeks ago I palyed COD3 on ps3 at friends home and I can't say how much I hated the experience.
Why can't consoles use the type of games that actually relate to consoles in order to advertise, like tekken or hack/slash games.
I just hate when I see FPS game on a console.
Because if they stopped making fps for consoles, they'd lose out on a whole genre of money. As long as people still buy, they will still make. (Just look at crappy ports and movie-to-game games)
that commercial was terrible. ill still play haze but damn that sucked. they could ask any random person off the street to make a haze commercial with the lowest budget possible and it would be better than that.
omg... that's the fakest comercial I've seen this month. they've just cut the price like few weeks ago... they won't do it again this soon.
+ they're adding an game to it?
any way on getting my hands on taht serum.... to inject it into the IS-f..... I really want that fucking car and its all the more accessible with a 40% discount... sigh....
Not as bad as those god fucking awful "Dude, get your own" PSP commercials. Those make me want to steal a PSP, then shove it down a Sony marketter's throat. Could. Not. Be. Worse.
That is the lamest commercial I have ever seen. Everything about it screamed "made in mom's basement" to me. That makes me NOT want to buy either pieces of merchandise.
"Gaming for me is a religion and Haze is the shit. I had to come up with a track that can hit up that kind of rush that I get from the game, and I think we really rocked it."
Haze, by all accounts, was not a successful game. The PS3 exclusive didn't sell well, and it was critically mauled with reviewers citing poorly executed combat, weak technical achievements, bad writing and ambitions that were...
Having only played through some of the demo for Haze, I'm not even going to comment on the quality of Free Radical's PlayStation 3 first-person shooter. I will say that the four-player cooperative drop-in/drop-out sounds real...
As Hamza just noted, Haze hits this week, and the developers have been busy answering questions on the Ubi forum. To our surprise, the May 16 update reveals two ugly technical facts about the game: a rather large required ins...

Haze has finally been given a release date. Rather, it's been given a general release window. Ubisoft has told us that the game will be released some time this May on the PS3. With the news of the release date comes the new ...
Today, Ubisoft issued a report on its 2007-08 third-quarter sales, indicating a 44% increase when compared to 2006-07. Business -- as they say -- is good, and this is all detailed in the press release issued today. Want to ta...
