The PS3 version of Dragon Age: Origins is lagging behind the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. Game developer BioWare has made that delay public, saying that the Sony-bound variant of the RPG should hit “later in November.” Retailers have been listing the release date as November 17th for a while, and now official confirmation of that exact date has been given to Joystiq.
So, yeah, the PS3 version Dragon Age: Origins is hitting on November 17 -- two weeks after the slated November 3 release of the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game.
This summer we asked what gives in regards to the delay and the word we received was that the delay was just a reflection of that version being behind in terms of scheduling -- the crew was just late jumping hurdles that they were clearing on the other two versions of the game. In a more recent comment tossed to Joystiq, a rep said that the studio “wanted more to get [the] PS3 [version] to ‘Bioware standards.’ “
This is a good thing, of course. Bad PS3 ports, are, well, bad games to play.
[Update: You can disregard most of this story -- BioWare has announced via the PlayStation Blog that the title will ship alongside the Xbox 360 and PC versions. That's November 3.]

Glad I have both consoles. I buy nearly every cross-platform game on my 360.
I don't think so. This has been known for a while but 100% confirmed today.
Plus they said they were announcing it in the live chat (which starts in 15 minutes).
Then next week I want to pick up Borderlands.
Not to mention Modern Warfare 2 coming out in 2/3 weeks.
Dragon Age will have to be a christmas buy for me... will have plenty of time to play it and finish it then until January 28th when Mass Effect 2 released (UK).
FTL!
PS3 version launching November 3rd in NA.
Sorry, but your post was irritating.
But this is kinda silly.
In other news... EU date remains in the air =(
Just kidding. Calm down all you self-righteous dicks. Mistakes were made.
<3 you Brad.
How is it corny and derivative? Give an example instead of just spewing forth some filth that cannot be backed up.
Are you saying that it reminds you of an episode of the Snorks, where Allstar finds a golden lamp and Bigweed steals it?
I'm just saying.
You already said the exact same thing in another dragon age story.. Why are you going to every Dragon Age board and saying its "corny and derivative". Now you just seem like kind of a douche.
That's going a bit far. I admit, after playing Demon's Souls, no other game looks as appealing as it did before, but this game still should be great.
@Exostenza
I got a gaming PC, but nothing compares to the gaming experience on the ps3 imho. Call me a fanboy for biting the bait, but Bioware has been one of the developers who has responded to such claims as, "the ps3 is too hard to develop for," calling them "silly."
why?
because they released a few games on the xbox and 360 and apparently shitty games go far on those systems.
i waited for this game for a long ass time, but now that i know more about it not intrested :(
when they make a game that looks more like baldurs gate then neverwinter nights.. ill be there to buy it. and anything that looks at all like kotor, misewell just go pick up a book or rent a movie
Huh? lol
Anyways, I'm going purely on Bioware's statement and claims that this game is going back the the roots of Baldur's Gate, which I loved. I totally trust in that since while those games are great, there are other false statements that could have been made to garner more of a following.
Also, dissapointed that this is the only major announcement for ps3's DA:O. I was hoping for extra content. Especially since there's no way I'll be ready to play this when it comes out in a couple weeks anyways.
Anyways, glad I'm picking this up on PC anyways, but I'm happy for those PS3 people.
@Deadaim
You must be on crack if you think the combat looks boring and unlike BG. It's almost exactly like Baldur's Gate and much more complex and sweet.
