Now, Waiting for ME3 on PS3
Who the hell even plays Mass Effect on the PC anyway? Its always primarily been an Xbox series and that's the only version that gets any attention.
Moving quickly on
@pedrovay2003
THX for the tip, I take it using this method wont void my slim or get me banned it the future?
Your last point is spot on. They sold the franchise on Steam for years, even though the DLC was always a PITA the games worked and looked better than Xbox or PS3, and now they deny their Steam community access to the finale. Fuck EA.
Some of you will undoubtedly bend over and take it cause it's Mass Effect 3, and a game is worth more than your principals. I know I will make no effect what-so-ever on EA's bottom line, but at least I'll know I did it for all those developers who never got a chance at greatness thanks to EA.
Still, that's shitty. I can't believe they still think that Origin will be true competition to Steam. They need to give up and bring all their shit back to Steam ASAP. They'd get more sales there anyway.
Steam also has bone-simple matchmaking, built-in voice chat and IM, an actual community, massive inclusivity, an actual dialogue with its customers, and they won't lock you out of a thousand dollars' worth of games because their forums mods went off half-cocked. Also the sales don't hurt.
What? Not really, unless you missed the sarcasm... EA need popular titles to increase his user base for his shitty platform. BF3 was one of the first stone, ME3 was clearly next. So shut up now?
While ill continue to pay full price and support for dead space on ps3 "payed full price for the ps3 versions,PC version 5 bucks each.." there's no chance in hell im ever installing origin.I'm not going to say i support piracy but what i will say is that i have a Usenet account and a old 250gb HD set aside to play "one" origin only games.I want to play ME 3 on my PC.Its 10 times more powerful then my Xbox 360 and does not give me "cant read disc errors".
My problem with origin is not that I am a fan of steam its just that i actually read that Terms of Service agreement when it launched and was like O HELL NO.Since then watching people get there access to games they bought blocked for petty reasons and nightmarish story's of over billing and horrible customer service hasn't helped.
The whole reason that valve put in place rules about updates and DLC is pretty much do in part to EA/Biowares and others bungling of easy access to that content. Now if i want to find DLC for a game on steam its right fucking there.
Origin's EULA allows it to inspect your computer and send this info to EA.
If you're okay with that, then you probably need to get your head checked.
I don't have anything against EA as a whole, but I have a lot against Origin's invasive EULA, which is disrespectful of my privacy and security.
Dota 2 is 'only on Steam' because it allows Valve/IceFrog/etc to efficiently and effectively implement patches, something which the game will most likely be having a large number of, and that it uses both the Source engine and Steamworks. THQ and etcetera likely use Steam to painlessly authenticate copies, while also using (at least, in Retribution's case) Steam's network to manage matchmaking and suchlike.
Meanwhile, Origin's a little shitty, and EA is hated for their dicksmash tactics towards consumer satisfaction, killing off studios and generally getting far too involved in the development process.
Also, cocks.
So dont buy it. If you really, REALLY want to know how the series ends, watch it on Youtube or read about it. Piracy is not the answer.
