Bullshit. What has origin done that allows developers to interact with their customers? I play crysis 2 which forces you to have origin. I would love to hear from the developers but they havn't touched the game for months.

Meh, I never got into this series anyway. Still pissed about battlefield tho. Also, I still think they are full of shit with that excuse.

EA. You're a third party. There was no room for you at the platform table. Sony, MS, Nintendo, Steam, Apple and GOG didn't have a seat to spare and neither do consumers.

Luckily I still have to play through ME 2, and I probably never will, even though I own two copies. Maybe by the time I finish, the third will be out on Steam. For 5 bucks.
I do hope they'll allow you to import your save from the Steam versions into the Origin finale. If not... inexcusable.

They basically don't like that Steam won't let them sell their DLC through their own store, but honestly, they should. At least Steam uses real money and downloads the DLC straight to your game. The way that you have to buy Bioware DLC is fucking ridiculous.
First you buy a Bioware points card, then you go to the Social site and create an account there, then you have to register your game and shit, and then you can redeem the points card, and then you can use the points to unlock the DLC of your choice, and then you have to dowload the DLC from that site onto your computer, and THEN you have to install the shit yourself. I mean.. What the fuck?
It makes me not even want to buy their shit at all. If I want DLC from Steam, I click on that bastard and buy it. Boom. Done. Back to the game. Other than two DLCs for the first Mass Effect, Bioware doesn't even sell their shit in Origin. It's stupid. And it really illustrates Gabe Newell's point about building a superior service.

I played the first two on Xbox 360. Now my 360 is dead. My only gaming platform is PC right now, but even if I did buy this on Origin, I'm not confident in any way that I'd be able to import my saves. It's pretty frustrating.

They're just securing more pirated copies so people can avoid Origin at all costs. Smooth move guys. Everyone already knows that Bioware DLC sucks, so most people don't even care at this point if they can't get it.
I like Steam, never tried Origin, but what's wrong with EA choosing to build their download service by excluding Steam? Sure the reason they give might be bullshit, but it's their game, they get to choose how to distribute it. If that means not letting Valve have a cut of the deal and doing it themselves, what's wrong with that?

I really want to play Mass Effect 3, but I'll wait till it's on Steam...and it WILL eventually end up on Steam.

It really makes no sense to me why keep pushing their platform. They can't win. Millions use Steam and worship it, it's not just a program that they can replace. TBH I would take limited installs over this shit any day.
Kinda figured this would happen. Good thing I had already planned go give Prey 2 my money lol. I'll pick up ME3 eventually. Come to to think of it does Origin ever do sales? Either it doesn't get enough coverage (something destructoid is generally pretty good about) or they don't do them at all.

Everything you have done in the last 18 months has been shitty, and honestly, Mass Effect 3 looks like it's not going to deliver on the promise storyline wise that the end of the first game setup. Those bridging DLC's for ME2 were appalling.

@ matthewbloch As far as EA is concerned they are died to me on PC, theres plenty of great games by other publishers so I can just ignore them. ME3 isdifferent its the 3rd part or a episodic story.

People love the shit out of Steam. They love how easy and convenient shopping with Steam is. They love the sales. They love having all their games in one place. And they love all the great features that come with it all. When EA refuses to sale the game on Steam, it feels like they are taking something away from us. What's worse, it feels like they are taking it away for their own greedy gains. Instead of making things as convenient and enjoyable as possible, they are making it more of a pain in the ass. If they really want everyone to start buying from their service, they should make it a service that we want and not a service that we have to have. I'm going to be buying the game from Origin on day one, because I'm not going to let a little extra inconvenience stop me from playing it. But I can definitely understand why so many are irritated by EA's bullshit decisions.

Good thing I played this on Xbox. Though after DA2 and TOR, I'm not sure how much optimism I can have for this.
there was a fix (sort of crack) for battlefield 3 making it possible to run it without origin but there was a small chance that it may potentially get you banned so hardly anyone uses it.
Most likely the same would come out for mass effect 3 and since online is not really important there this fix/crack may still be worth applying especially since no bf3 player has been banned for using it until now.

You can actually transfer saves between the PC and 360 -- That's what I did when I was anticipating the PC version of ME3 including Origin, and my PC-completed character is now on my Xbox, waiting to be imported.

@qlum: I actually used that crack for quite a bit. It doesn't get you banned. Or at least I haven't got banned yet. Though for some reason I think they patched the game to where you couldn't log-in into svrs without having Origin up and running.
I didn't buy Crysis 2 because of this, I won't buy Mass Effect 3 because of this. Only way I'll buy either is if they hit Steam. That is all.
