I'm going to say something that I'm not sure any has had the nerve to say up until now -- I don't think Rebellion's Alien vs. Predator is going to be very good.
Full disclosure: I haven't played the game. (Yeah, I know -- how can I really form an opinion?) When Sega was showing off the game at a PlayStation event I attended last month, they weren't letting people go hands on with the game's single-player. (And why not?) But based on what I had a seen, I wasn't convinced the game was going to deliver on expectations based on sloppy-looking gameplay and some seriously "meh" visuals.
It's also hard to shake the fact that Aliens vs. Predator is being developed by the same folks who made Rogue Warrior; that's quite a game to have on your resume. This isn't really the same Rebellion that put together the well-received late 90s Aliens vs. Predator.
That said, I can't really condemn the game until I spend some real time with it. It ships on February 16 (along with a pretty sweet "Hunters Edition") and I'm at the very least curious to see how it turns out. I'll say this: The Predator does have some pretty sweet (and violent) kills. It's a shame they've all been stripped from this latest trailer.

While I have no opinion on AvP yet I will say Rocksteady did make Urban Chaos: Riot Response before they made Batman: Arkham Asylum and I don't know about you guys but I didn't have much faith in that until I played.

Also yeah. When you take away everything they've been showing from the game so far (VIOLENT QTE VIOLENT QTE VIOLENT QTE VIOLENT QTE VIOLENT QTE VIOLENT QTE), all you end up getting is (wandering around wandering around wandering around etc etc)
Yeah that is true i'm looking forward to that the most 3 way team deathmatch alien/marine/predator should be sweet, creeping up on my friends as a predator/alien or teaming up with them as marines to survive or even teaming up as one of the alien species, it should be fun, and tbh that's all i'm looking for in this game i don't expect it to be game of the year or century just a fun experience, and as long as it brings that in any way then it's worth the money

Thought to be honest I just wanna play a multiplayer games with Aliens where i can shout "GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!"
This IS the SAME Rebellion that made the original AvP games way back when - way to jump to conclusions though, maybe attempt some research next time hmm??

The worst offender though is the lack of feedback when things happen on screen, shooting results in some crappy gun sounds and some crappy recoil animations and entering a kill animation as the predator or alien feels disjointed.
note that I haven't played the multiplayer, hopefully that makes up for the sp.
It seems to me like the Alien is going to be fodder unless I'm mistaken and they are more "stealthy" and not RUN STRAIGHT INTO GUNFIRE--- DIE --- RUN STRAIGHT INTO GUN FIRE-- DIE

For now, yeah, that's all I want to say. Admittedly, I could be off the mark, so we'll see. But I'm fortunate enough to see a lot of games in various stages of development and I'm not feeling this one.
But to be honest it does not really look like it would be very innovative. I have seen the same in AVP and AVP2.
But the fact of having done a bad game dosn't say anything. Bungie made Oni.
Besides, the game has three different types of game play. This is more than most other AAA,A shooters have to offer. And the second was very nice, also aged well. I know, Monolith did. But I don't believe throw away the good things for vanity.
Still, they visuals will suck. No problem, the visuals from Dragon Age Origins sucks but I like the game anyway.
Also, in regards to the Predator distract feature, if I were a marine and I heard what sounded like Satan mumbling something in a corner, I would not go over there. At all.
also i'm a big alien/predator nerd so i guess that plays a factor as well.
