I really enjoyed the first Yakuza game. It managed to cram a lot of interesting things to do into a area that never felt as overwhelming as many other sandbox-style games. Plus, the story interested me and I found the combat system to be really satisfying.

Now, nearly two years after its release in Japan, the rest of the world is finally getting to check out the sequel. I realize it won't make much of an impact, running as it is on hardware that's already on its last legs and particularly with all of the other AAA content coming over the next few months. That makes me a bit of a sad panda.

Yakuza 2 was released in the US earlier this week for the Playstation 2, but it doesn't reach Europe until next Friday. I'll be picking it up as soon as I have some spare cash lying around. What about the rest of you? Anybody else going to break out the PS2 for this one?

If not for everything else coming out, I may have checked it out. However, I think my PS2 is remaining dormant until Persona 4.

I'll be picking it up for my 60 gigger. Yes sir. The scans of Yakuza 3 for the PS3 look intriguing as well.

I'm somewhat surprised they developed this game for the PS2 only. It seems like they ought to have developed for the 360 and PS3, and then made the PS2 version a graphically toned down port. But then what do I know, I'm not a game developer.

It's one of the few games I actually got to play at PAX, and it seemed kind of fun really.

I never finished the first one, but my girlfriend took it from me and beat it in one solid weekend. I picked this one up for her earlier this week and was pretty happy to see it was only thirty dollars. I played it a little and was happy to see some of the problems that plagued the first have been fixed in the second. Most notably the load times before battle are much more reasonable, and I found myself avoiding far less fights because of it. There are also a few more mini games like the fun batting cages from the first. Great deal, great game, get it if you can find it.

Definitely going to pick this up after I pay myself on Sunday. Have to have a good weekend in the shop though. Really enjoyed the first one and glad they finally released the sequel here.

Already got the first game, but I'll have to start playing it first... I really need to beat the huge library of games I have...
