XSEED to publish Grand Knights History on PSP photo

Vanillaware's RPG Grand Knights History just launched in Japan, but XSEED is already on the case, today announcing that the title will come to the PSP in North America. If you haven't see it yet, this game is a beautiful turn-based RPG from the folks that made Odin Sphere and Muramasa. Just like these, Grand Knights History is hand-drawn and colorful, as you'll see in our screenshots gallery.

Grand Knights History takes place in the land of Listia, where the lands of Union, Avalon and Logres have long battled against each other. While these three nations collide on the battlefield, you play as a captain that has to pick a side, form an army and move into war.

Aside from the main, single-player game, GHK also has a massively-multiplayer element that allows players to test their knights against others. Somehow a constant internet connection is not required for this feature.

Grand Knights History will launch on both UMD and as a PSN download this winter.

Anyone else think "Vanillaware" is a fucking terrible name?

Might as well be called "mediocreware","shovelware" or "ZOO".

YES! There are many great original PSP games as of late being stuck in japan and I'm glad that Grand Knights History managed to make it out. Hopefully the community embraces it (if it turns out to be as good as it is hoped to be) and holds back on the piracy this time.

Very nice! Love xseed and Vanillaware so I'll be sure to pick this up. I also appreciate the nice special edition boxes Xseed does for their games at launch.

Oh yes! The PSP is still alive and kicking in the west! I will buy this, Persona 2: Innocent Sin and hopefully FF Type-0 (please a western release) in the foreseeable future. Come to think of it, I buy more games for my PSP than my Wii or Xbox 360 so screw everyone calling it dead!

@youngskeletor Nope. I can see how it could seem bad if you linked "vanilla" with "bland" though.

Games still needing a localization:

- Yakuza Black Panther 1 and 2
- Valkyria Chronicles 3
- Terror of the Stratus
- Over My Dead Body
- Final Fantasy Type-0
- Final Promise Story
- Akihabara's Trip
- Frontier Gate

There's another dozen JP-only games that already launched over there for quite sometime. Time to ressurect the PSP in the West.

Xseed is amazing, still hoping they'll pick up the Yakuza psp games or Valkyria 3 if Sega doesn't get their act together.

Either way this is great news!

Muramasa was fucking beautiful, but it really dragged on after playing both story modes, what with the repetitive combat and environments reused ad nauseum. I may check this out if the tactical RPG combat is more engaging than Muramasa's button-mashing bullshit.

I love you Xseed, If I had the money I would fly down to your studios to kiss everyone's feet and give everyone back rubs. So many amazing games that would have never made it over got published here because of them.

Thank goodness I found these news in D-Toid; I saw it first in Japanator but I absolutely refuse to make yet another new account just to post comments.

I believe it's time to get a PSP! (I gave the previous one away as a present)
