Earth Seeker is looking purty too. Another title I want out of Japan. Looks hella better that Story/Xeno/Pandora.
Also, prepare for Stealth RAGE!
By the way xseed wasnt a big part of the ds for a long time either
Also, I preordered Solatorobo and I can't wait! Epic you should do the same.
@Stealth: Take your 12 yr old self back to GoNintendo. That is all I'm going to say regarding you.
All I am going to say was the first ds xseed title was 4 years later
So them saying they arent jumping in right away, is usual procedure.
Dont act shocked now
@ TrevHead- Not that I know of, but I'll keep you posted.
@ Namodacranks- No you!
" Stealth- Yet, they want to have a PS Vita game at launch. What do you make of that?"
First of all they said if they could it would be nice because they have been working on so many psp games lately. They didnt say they want to have a title out at launch ( making it seem like they have one in the works.
Second of all why would I care? What does that have to do with the 3ds?
Spin.
XSeed- "If we could be there at the launch of Vita, that would be absolutely great for us."
You're both having having trouble reading the actual post, and reading into what I'm writing too much. That said, after being called a Nintendo fanboy for so many years, it is kind of neat to have someone imply the opposite for a change.
no, each company works on there own timeline for different systems and what they are able to do.
xseed has been working on exclusively psp titles for a good while now, so thats what they feel comfortable with. For the psp and ds they waited over 4 years to start working on titles.
What they were talking about was "what if"
So them dreaming they would like to be at launch is nice. but thats all it is. And really has no bearing on what is.
His first post????? Didn't keep that promise did he?
There is some great Nintendo games coming soon, but otherwise I hope my 3DS will NOT have been mainly for discovering the DS' amazing library.
As for your criticism of the post, I don't think I made it sound like they "dislike" the system. "Like" doesn't really come into the equation. I just stated that, from the quote, it sounds like they are "less keen" on publishing 3DS games compared to their other opportunities. Is there any other way to read into statements like "I don’t think we’re ready to jump into that market just yet"?
@ Grethiwha- That's pretty awesome. I'll let them know you said that!
There are many games that are not big sellers in Japan, and sell better in the U.S. & U.K. market.
I mean that's how they were so successful with the PSP.
It's amazing what a competent online store does for software makers, especially small ones. Learn Nintendo...Actually who am I kidding, they won't.
xseed was more successful with physical titles by far. Apparently they barely made any profit with there dd adventures.
I wrote a short blog post a while back (before switching to the Dtoid community blogs ;) ) saying effectively the same thing. I think they're the coolest publisher ever. I'm also a huge fan of FSR and Fragile Dreams (and Ivy the Kiwi is great too - so adorable). That Flower, Sun, and Rain has an instruction manual consistently matched in quality only as far as I can think of by Nintendo and Rockstar games blows my mind.
PS: Why do you hate Nintendo so much, Holmes? ;)
You know, I think the presentation of little things like the manual is really important too, especially these days when buying a physical version of a game usually costs much more time and money than downloading (and of course, pirating) it does. I knew exactly what game I was getting with the Super Mario 25th Anniversary package, but the NZ$100 stung a little bit when the exclusive packaging was a leaflet and soundtrack of mostly sound effects. It's the sort of thing that encourages customer loyalty, I think.
I can't understand the way EB games sell used games without covers or manuals for the same price as they'd be with those things.
In a related note now i remember why Gravity looked so familiar now.
With more and more companies seemingly weary of the system, it seems less likely we'll get these types of experiences. It's lame if you ask me, and potentially a missed opportunity for developers, publishers, and the even console itself.
Solatorobo really has a retro feel to it, kinda like a throwback to the nineties and their RPG's and adventure games. The writing is fantastic, that is why I'm already on my second playthrough (and also to compare back to back the French and English translations ^^)
