XSEED brings Unchained Blades to PSP and 3DS this year
Unchained Blades is known as UnchainBlades ReXX in Japan, and this release from last year is coming our way thanks to the folks at XSEED. The dungeon crawler RPG will come to both the PSP and the 3DS sometime later this year as a download. This localization comes with new English voiceovers.
There are some ties between this game and Game Arts' greatest titles as Lunar director Toshio Akashi and Grandia writer Takashi Hino work at FuRyu, the developer of Unchained Blades. As we mentioned some time ago, this game was a collaborative effort, with each of the 13 main characters created by a different artist. Folks behind games like Shining Force, Summon Night, Bastard!! and several others contributed.
XSEED says that you'll play with a party of four characters, working through dungeons in a first-person view. The whole 'chain' bit comes in when you rope enemy monsters to join the party and help out with special abilities. Each character can use up to four chained creatures, making for what's sure to be some crazy battles.
More info on Unchained Blades will drop in the coming months. For now, enjoy these new screenshots.
