@Veggie - XSeed didn't "dump" GKH. They did their part. The localization is done. Its Vanillaware that has to implement the code for it. Because things changed for Dragon's Crown's publishing, they've devoted all time, resources and attention alongside Atlus to get that game finished.
Looking forward to this game. It actually has online multiplayer over that internet and works really well from the Japanese videos I've seen. Totally getting this while I wait for Phantasy Star Online 2 and Monster Hunter Vita.

The gameplay differentiates itself from MonHun quite readily because of the much more fast-paced action. Faster even than God Eater or Phantasy Star Portable/Universe.
This game is a very solid title, and the online play is fun as hell.
Vita owners should put this on their radar.

Man, Ragnarok is still popular? I enjoyed Ragnarok Online a lot back in the day but when you realized it was just one big grind just for the sake of hats you loose your motivation.

I was really, really hoping that XSEED would announce a special edition of THE LAST STORY for the US release. Sigh... At least we are getting new Vita games, because we sure as fuck need more of those!
I don't know much about Vita games, but is this kind of a Norse-flavored Monster Hunter clone? What makes this game different? Just curious.

@mos - Persona 4 might be a spinoff, but as the entire SMT franchise goes its one of best games to start with.

Babies first? Oh wait, everyone got him already. Now here's my question folks: I just got into the persona series after loving smt for awhile (nocturne, strange journey, the survivors) and I started with p3: fes. I fucking love it too death. It was actually my first smt game back when it came out, but didn't click with me back then. Anyways its fast becoming one of my favorite RPGs ever (im at about 30 hrs), is there a significant change from 3 to 4 that would cause him to make such a comment? Anything dumbed down? I'm curious because I'm highly looking forward to the vita version (and p2 for PSP when I get said vita along with p3p) of what could become my favorite series next to survivor (god I love me some srpg goodness). Anyways let me know pls.
While P3 an P4 are decent games I still see the Mos' point - those games are way too pussified. The difficulty is kindergarten level.

If Persona 4 gets them interested in Strange Journey, Devil Survivor or Soul Hackers then what's the problem with that? We can't all start on Nocturne or some pirate games and waste time inserting fansubs to prove how "serious" a fan we are.

Huh. After the last few comments what's it say about me that I went to persona last and enjoy it more than some of the others, difficulty be damned? I will say that the battles are easier, but I'm not playing for only fights. Besides I'm on normal and have run into a good 3-4 spots where shit got real, so I'm looking forward to a second play on hard.
@PhilK3nS3bb3n - The only "dumbed down" aspect I can think of is that instead of having one huge generating dungeon like Tarterus you have several separate generating dungeons. However p4 will have you taking the weather forecast into consideration alongside the calender. The way the alternate endings play out is pretty interesting as well. Overall its a great game and a fantastic follow up to p3. Shit im getting excited just thinking about other people getting a chance to play it. That mos guy is just bitter because the idea of new SMT fans scares him.
Hate to break it to you silent protagonist, but its people like you that list 101 reasons why they don't want/like a vita that are way more annoying and completely unnecessary to people who want to enjoy an amazing announcement for the vita.

Yeah, the newer Persona games are easier, but does that make them worse games? If you honestly tell me that when a game is easier, it becomes worse, you're either deluded or just an asshole. The fact that anyone is willing to ignore P3/4's superior gameplay, character development, and narrative due to difficulty reeks of elitism.

To all those people saying "Monster Hunter ripoff": thank God it's coming to the US. I'd be upset if Capcom actually tried to sell Monster Hunter over here, but their past advertising has been lousy, they haven't even localized the last few games and no announcements for American releases have been made yet. As an American Monster Hunter fan, I have to take what I can fucking get, so I'm cautiously optimistic for this. Who knows, maybe it'll have an actual good tutorial.
@mos: that was me 5 years ago. My friends flipped out because I didn't want to simulate high school again and try to make people like me. So I went into other games of the series and came back a few years later and am in love. To each his own though. Also I'm pretty sure it was that you called it babies first smt that got everyone up in arms. Not that didn't care for it.

Don't really care if this is a rip of Phantasy Star, Monster Hunter or anything else. Played the hell out of Ragnarok back in the day, so I already know I'll like the universe.
AND AS LONG AS THE GAME IS GOOD, IT SHOULDN'T MATTER IF IT WAS INSPIRED BY SOMETHING ELSE. All I care about is gameplay that is both fun and solid. As long as those conditions are met, how unique or original it is will only be the icing on the cake.
