The four player co-op isn't just local. It's online.
The gameplay differentiates itself from MonHun quite readily because of the much more fast-paced action. Faster even than God Eater or Phantasy Star Portable/Universe.
This game is a very solid title, and the online play is fun as hell.
Vita owners should put this on their radar.
Still isn't worth the price of admission.
sure am excited to be unable to find this for a good price once the vita gets games and price drops to something reasonable, though.
Got excited by this until I I saw it's for Vita only. :(
"Oh he plays SMT, but not THIS kind of SMT, let us ostracize him from our small community."
That's not "baby's first," just a great first game to start with. Now, go sit in a corner and think about what a joke you are.
If Persona 4 gets them interested in Strange Journey, Devil Survivor or Soul Hackers then what's the problem with that? We can't all start on Nocturne or some pirate games and waste time inserting fansubs to prove how "serious" a fan we are.
For the record, I also see no reason to own a Vita until Persona 4 is out. Its kind of the only SMT-related game that's coming to Vita so far? 3DS has the other ones so what do you want from these people? Can they not buy a Vita when they feel the time is right?
Still, this game makes me giddy with anticipation.
There's a reason why Persona 4 got a 10/10 and Strange Journey and Devil Survivor didn't.
Honestly, it's this aspect of the older SMT fanbase that disgusts me the most. They're so caught up in how "hardcore" they are compared to others that they find the idea of there being more SMT fans to be a bad thing. How the hell could having more people becoming fans possibly be a bad thing? Only elitists, the ignorant, and genuinely dickish could ever believe something like that.
I don't like Persona. There's no need to hop into some sort of hyper defensive mode because I said I don't care about it.
I wonder how it works in your minds. God forbid I say something, someone else reads it, takes it for face value and never buys the game! Then Atlus would go bankrupt and the series would die!
Honestly, people. Stop getting so enraged at internet comments.
You're welcome to not be interested, in fact, that's probably what you should have said about Persona 4. Makes a world of difference in how people perceive you.
@Xenonas - You said he had a point, then throw in volitile words like "pussified" and chip in "kindergarten level. Again, elitism. Thank you for proving my point.
SSayword - Get this through your head. I don't hate the Vita. Its a piece of hardware that plays games. I will buy it when it has more games I want to play. I dislike Sony strongly, however, but only because they're a shell of the company they were last generation and their anti-consumer practices and overpriced memory sticks continue to prove that.
We clear? Vita will have RPGs. I will want Vita for that in the long run. Dunno about this game, I'd need to know more about it, but I am looking forward to others coming to the Vita.
...
Grow up.
@Gee-man you mention "superior gameplay", but you should take into account that balanced difficulty is a part of a GOOD gameplay. And please don't bring in to the discussion ratings of "professional video game critics". Those are just opinions. Same as mine and your's.
P.S. From where the hell do you people get the idea that I (or someone who you never mention) don't want more people to get into the SMT franchise?
AND AS LONG AS THE GAME IS GOOD, IT SHOULDN'T MATTER IF IT WAS INSPIRED BY SOMETHING ELSE. All I care about is gameplay that is both fun and solid. As long as those conditions are met, how unique or original it is will only be the icing on the cake.
