Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Veks and Silence is an upcoming XNA developed title that looks absolutely ridiculous. It’s a side scrolling shooter where you take on a zombie horde. The game will span over 13 levels and is set to have plenty of features and weapons. The graphics also look pretty good to for an XNA title. Also, one of the enemies in the game are sharks with butterfly wings. So awesome.

The game from the three man development team, Edible Entertainment, is currently going through peer review so we should hopefully see Veks and Silence on the Indie Games channel pretty soon.

Until then, take a look at the trailer after the break and visit the official Web site for more info and media on Veks and Silence.

[Thanks, Tristero!]

Am I the only one who was unpleasantly reminded of Ecks and Sever whenever they heard the title of this? Also, is the bag on Veks' head the object on sale, or are its contents?

Looks like a rip off of Facewound.

There seems to be a lack of chainsawing in the video. Or maybe there's too much stuff going on. I had trouble telling the enemies from the environment, cause there was so much stuff cluttering the screen. And the camera was a bit too far away from the main character.

I think this looks pretty damn amazing for an XNA game. I don't know why people complain, when we have so much forgettable shovelware from the service. The art-style and diversity in environments is better than many true XBLA games out there.
I'm looking forward to this one.
