Your story is 100% incorrect. Seriously, this is the exact, and I mean, literally the EXACT same PR BS Nintendo has been giving its fans for over a year. What, it's "scheduled" for release? But no release date, right? This is nothing news. This isn't news at all. Worse, it's spreading false information to people about the status of Xenoblade.
@Jim- Those last 2 paragraphs say it all. So much confusion and anger over this.
EU confirmation for The Last Story pretty much means a NA release has moved from a potentially disappointing 50/50 to 90/10. Hell, even if they don't, it could be imported.
I knew Nintendo couldn't be absolutely retarded enough not to localize a game by FF's creator and possibly the best received JRPG of the generation. They couldn't have been. My faith in humanity has been restored until you publish an official comment saying, "Fuck no we ain't doing this!" tomorrow. Until then, Reggie's name will go uncursed.
Jim Sterling, PLEASE, I implore you to take this story down or revise it immediately.
There are many who are being linked to this thinking it's been truly confirmed.
This story is potentially hurting the cause!
I like you well enough, but you really need to edit SOMETHING about this whole thing. An inapropriate message of victory is being spread, and some clarification is direly needed! Please post about Operation Rainfall's latest successes and developers' supportive tweets!
I want Nintendo to step up and refute this shit. I'm not doing it for them.
Because of this, I'm really not sure if Nintendo of America is to be blamed for the lack of titles in the US. I don't think we've heard any comments about these developers wanting to have the titles released in the US, so for all we know it could be them not wanting to port the titles here.
@Abel Cunningham
How does that ruin the campaign? If anything, it says that it's working, and that's not something we can say very often about Nintendo letter writing campaigns *cough* Mother 3 *cough*
On the subject of Mother 3, as much as I wish they would have officially brought it over, there were some circumstances that separate it from the Xenoblade/Last Story/Pandora's Tower situation. The GBA was pretty much dead in NA, so that alone made something as text heavy as Mother 3 getting localized more unlikely.
On the other hand, Xenoblade and The Last Story are coming to Europe. That means they will have an official English translation done. Plus, the Wii U is still over a year away. The Wii isn't dead yet completely.
Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I think that gives Xenoblade and The Last Story at least a higher chance at being localized than Mother 3.
Speaking of Mother 3, If it all more foolishly optimistic, I hope it comes to the eShop on the 3DS. Played twice already and I wouldn't mind takin a 3 round with it on the Go! >X3
It hurts the campaign because it makes people think the campaign worked, that Xenoblade is now definitely coming to the US, and causes people to quit asking for it.
The problem is that the Customer Service confirmation is no confirmation. Nintendo's Customer Service doesn't know what Nintendo will or will not do. They just look at a computer screen and see the same Xenoblade listing that has been there for years. All this confirmation really means is that Nintendo hasn't removed Xenoblade; it doesn't mean that they are bringing it out in the US. Nothing about the US status has visibly changed since before the fan movement to get it localized started.

Also I'd like to note that NoE news of came after most of these people got responses for Xenoblade that posted on the forum and people have been getting these same responses for years. If it was really confirmed and on the way we would of seen stuff by now! Especially considering the game is FULLY TRANSLATED!
On the note of The Last Story and Pandora's Tower, there has been nothing close to even a mention! We can't stop now! We have to keep pressing forward!

This is the reason most of us are upset with the title, you gave us false hope, sure it's not your fault it's Nintendo's customer service, but it's still misleading, you're pride shouldn't get in the way of changing the title to "possibly re-confrimed" It just got recently announced to not be coming to NA, and I thought that maybe they just changed their minds
About Earth Seeker from my understanding it was developed by Crafts & Meister and published by Enterbrain so it's not Nintendo's fault if it doesn't make it over.
Hope they actually do bring this game to the states instead of fucking us over like they have done oh so many times before...
Until I see copies for sale, I won't believe a word they say.
I don't care what country it's being released in, if we're getting an English Last Story, I'm importing the SHIT out of it.
You're overlooking Zangeki no Reginleiv (by Sandlot, the developer behind Earth Defense Force 2017 on 360)! This recent campaign's lack of that game is so disappointing.
Then again, why would I expect to read the comments this far down? Doh!
@Jim I get what you're saying. Thanks again for putting the disclaimer up front.
now we only need The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Fatal Frame 2 and 4, as well as Earth Seeker!!!
BTW, Since when Europe is first (I am not counting Japan, ok?) to get jRPGs? Not that I don't like the trend, quite the contrary.
Now, I would really like to see Earth Seeker and Pandora's Tower as well.
