Nintendo of America seems to be knocking news out of the park today in an effort to draw attention away from the PS Vita. If you're an RPG fan, it might just be working! Alongside announcing The Last Story for 2012, the publisher has also confirmed Xenoblade Chronicles for April 6.
As well as the date, Nintendo has also revealed some sweet box art for the game. Look at how pretty it is!
Xenoblade is going to see a limited release when it finally drops, available only at GameStop. Still, that's a small sacrifice to finally get a hold of the damn thing.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also, you can buy Xenoblade from Nintendo's official website.
82 hours in (and it still looks like I have a little ways to go), it's the best RPG I've played since FFVII. Incredible soundtrack, great characters, gorgeous scenery, and a perfect blend of JRPG and MMoRPG elements. My sole complaint is that the game is awfully easy if you're doing every quest and exploring every area, as the the experience given for both is very generous. But on the flipside it means there is no need for grinding.
Seriously, buy it. The first few hours are a little slow, but it picks up in a big way by the time you get out of the starting area.
Games are more than graphics. An overwhelming majority of RPG fans have clamored that Xenoblade is the best JRPG to hit in nearly a decade and well worth the price of a Wii alone.
I'd rather play a phenomenal standard-definition Wii game with amazing gameplay, great characters, a great story, beautiful music, interesting combat, loads of variety, and a memorable setting than most of the HD-era mediocre, bland RPGs on "superior" systems.
Good luck with that, by the way.
Love the box art. Classy.
We shouldn't have had to make this much effort to get a quality game released in the first place. But if this is how things are going to be for future games, I don't want to have to rely on extremely limited print runs direct from Nintendo's online store.
Outdated in graphics, perhaps, but Xenoblade is massive in scope and ambition and has great art direction, brilliant music, engaging combat, fast travel and a great story. If you don't like the Wii, that's fine, but if you have a Wii and enjoy it, it's a great game. I believe Last Story will be as well.
Agreed with everything. I'm not fond of gamestop but I knew I "had" to pre order from them. There's also the fact that if the game isn't selling with gamestop then gamestop won't want to carry the game (usual business practice), and that's bad for everybody.
Don't feed the trolls.
i wasn't very much interested in this game before actually playing it (the last story looked more appealing back then) but after playing the first few hours, i knew the game was special. :)
I'll trust the RPG advise from anyone who has an avatar from Chrono Cross and a name from Rurouni Kenshin
