Xbox One boss Phil Spencer to give gamescom keynote photo

It seems that Microsoft Studios' bossface Phil Spencer will be giving the opening keynote at gamescom 2013, set to kick off next week. This is the first I'm hearing of this. CVG says gamescom organizers have confirmed this with them, and that a statement has been released to German media so far.

We're still holding for an exact date and time for the keynote.

Spencer will likely talk about his new console, Xbox One, at the keynote. We spoke with the corporate vice president on the day of the Xbox One launch, but many things have changed since then. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say now.

Spencer and other company boss types will host a pre-gamescom Xbox One showcase for press on August 20th. I'm on the list to attend. I expect that we'll hear some interesting things from this event as well.
