Xbox LIVE will be down Tuesday photo

Destructoid reminder: Xbox LIVE will be down tomorrow.

Starting Tuesday June 16 at 7:01 A.M. UTC, the service will be offline for up to twenty-four hours. This -- just like the last time Microsoft purposefully pulled the plug on Xbox LIVE for an extended period of time -- is to prepare the service for new integrations: Twitter, Facebook, Last.FM and the host of other stuff announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2009.

The bad news is you won’t be able to Tweet from your dashboard that the service is online again. However, if you can make that long walk back to your computer desk, you’ll be able to do it from there. Provided Twitter isn’t down as well.

The good news is that the transition to the aforementioned forthcoming features should be painless. After all, Microsoft did steal an entire day in order from you to do so.

What should you do while Xbox LIVE is down? We suggest checking out some PSN titles, playing Killzone 2, or revisiting some PlayStation One classics if you’re spectacularly bored. Or, you know, you could play an Xbox 360 game offline -- that’s always an option, although your Achievement time stamps will be slightly off.

The choice is yours! What will you guys be doing?

My wife tends to play Xbox Live (L4D+LOTR Conquest). I'll probably get some crucial PS2 backlog in today.

The Xbox servers have obviously been slimed, they're just looking for an excuse to take it offline as they clean it up.

I'll be writing finals because I'm that lame. I also lack a screen to hook my xbox 360 up to. I mean, I have my monitor but I lack a way to get sound right now.

Yeah, I'll probably spend most of today discovering the world that lays beyond my houses walls. Seriously, I need to get outside.

I was under the impression it was just certain aspects of Xbox Live that would be down? Seemed like online play was staying up. But, then again, reading comprehension is why I was in middle school til I was twenty.

why does this line make no sense? i see this a lot on blogs. writers just use spell check, but have no grammer check (hah) this is where editors come in handy.

why say "up to 24 hours"?? its obvious that it gonna be 24 hours--
Kinda sucks all my community (indie) games are reliant on xbox live! I bought em dammit let me play em ( and random Rock Band DLC wont let me play either)-- this DRM thing is bullshit!
