buy the game new, show them you enjoy the franchise and guess what? They WILL give it to you.
who cares if it's included and locked, that's their prerogative, they don't wanna give it to you when you buy their game used, why should they? they've put 2+ years into creating the game, what have you done? whined about prices and yelled GREED when you're as guilty of it as anyone. get over yourselves.
Yet people will buy it. Good, bad; at the end of the day the sales figures decide what's right and wrong.
No one is DEMANDING that they have to give us the content. It's not like we are demanding that they give us this DLC by law. Likewise we are free to complain, refrain from buying it, etc.
I've brought up plenty of complaints against online passes and content such as this and the complaints I bring up are inherent to online passes regardless of if I bought them new. I bought Mass Effect 2 brand new, however once I downloaded the cerberus network content, it said I had to be online to play my file because I had to be logged in to the cerberus network to access the dlc and the dlc was linked to my save file. I didn't have easy access to the internet and had to restart my ME2 file, to this day I can't play any of that content unless I am hooked up to Xbox live, even though I bought the game new. Fuck online passes.
Although I had no idea they spent 2+ years developing games out of the kindness of their hearts. It's called a business. They work on something, we buy it. Your last paragraph makes it sound like we owe something to them on top of 60 dollars.
Here is what the dev said here... http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/9382439/8#9383839
"Hi all!
We're happy to confirm that Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC will be available at launch for all platforms. For those of you who have purchased the N7 Collector's Edition (including the PC Digital Deluxe Edition), you will get this content at no extra charge. We'll have a lot more details for you later this week! Stay Tuned!"
lol this is starting to actually get kind of funny now.
Inb4 people continue to defend this even though their only defense so far has been "just buy the game new."
this is called a slippery slope. I wonder how long gamers will continue to support day 1 dlc. Maybe when every game adopts the free to play model, but still costs 60 bucks?
Try looking up personification boss. We're pissed at EA/Bioware for how they have messed up ToR/ME3. Helper is part of that. (This article and leaked scripts would be evidence for why ME3 will be terrible.)
Further, the hatred for helper is about a year old on REDDIT. Its more of a joke. Don't know why everyone is so buttmad.
Some people on the Bioware forums are saying things like "Why is this a spoiler? It has been known since June last year!" Well that's all fine and dandy, but not everyone is reading the same stuff as you do, buddy.
To be totally fair, you don't really know how much it is Bioware's going as much as it is EA's DLC-shenanigans. But even if this wasn't about DLC, I'm still quite disappointed how Bioware is handling the Mass Effect franchise. Especially the plot.
#ME2 ME3-demo Spoilers Below#
I really don't like how they turned the Reapers from a mysterious, terrifying enemy to laughable, how silly the Collectors were and how fucking terrible that human-robot was. And though I had high-hopes for ME3 to redeem itself, the Reaper-invasion demo level just felt like one half-assed B-movie. From the actual events to the lines itself and that whole thing with the kid. Everything felt cheap and condensed. For me, it totally didn't work as a proper intro.
Well, at least they significantly improved the combat from the original game and most character conversations are still pretty great (apart from the ME3 demo).
But whatever, just me and some ramblings.
Now of course it won't stop me from playing the game, as I am really curious to see how the series will wrap up. But all in all, there's just so much stuff that doesn't make sense, at all.
I am pretty sure that is a rumour caused by the Mass Effect 3 art book showing that EDI with a robot body.

though they were some subtle hints in ME2(well not really a hint but more of a costume)
spoilers though didn't expect that to be the case O_O
I say - stripped. You say - content.
STRIPPED. CONTENT. STRIPPED. CONTENT!
Announcing $870 of it before the game is even out is full giga thermonuclear retard.
Sci-fi novels that have an intact earth (i.e. Not destroyed or rendered uninhabitable) always portray the planet as important for no other reason then it being the source of humanity.
As for the mass effect 3 example...why wouldn't Shepard want to invest as much energy protecting earth, the source of humanity, than any other colony planet? Also, the reapers haven't attacked earth in ME 1 or 2 so that justifiably explains the lack of earth missions this far.
And then await the announcement of Mass Effect 4.
