I don't mean to be an insensitive douche, but she did cheat on him (described in one of the articles linked off of Kotaku). This clearly wrecked him...
He may or may not have had a "mental illness". More likely than not he was a normal guy that got fucked over by his adulteress wife and was thrown off his base. The murder is unforgivable, sure, but so was the cheating. Emotional murder really.
It sucks for both parties involved, and neither act should have happened, but they both did. Condolences to both families.

Regardless though, no matter how bad your significant other fucks you over, murder is not the answer. This guy was selfish and couldn't handle the reality of the situation. Not saying adultery is necessarily tolerable, but no one deserves to die for it.
You know, cheating spouses don't always end up murdered. True, cheating on your husband is terrible (albeit not as "unforgivable" as you put it), but it doesn't deserve death. People need to learn how to move on in life. Having your wife cheat on you is devastating, but murder and suicide is not a justified course. It's also pretty safe to say that a normal guy doesn't turn into a murderer and then commit suicide just because his wife cheated on him. There's clearly something wrong within that mindset.
I don't want to look into any details regarding her affair, I think it's disgusting that their private lives would be exposed like that for strangers to look into. What I will say though is that we can't judge either of them for the sins they committed. We will never know every last detail, nor are we meant to.

Blame it on the healthcare system, mental health is at the bottom of the list. Its so damn bad, it really doesn't exist. Only rich people can afford it, they charge you 6-10 grand for an emergency mental health issue, and some of the best jobs + health insurance reject you if you have any previous case of it.

I don't think the blame lies directly on the health industry. You're right about the mental health situation (although I wouldn't say it's only for the rich, there are plenty of poor families that get shafted on it), but for some reason I'm thinking this guy never admitted to himself that he had a problem. The only way he could be forced into treatment is if he did something (or tried to do something) drastic. I seem to recall that the columbine shooters were treated for a while, but they ended up faking their way through it.
Going through therapy and so on is a form of help, but they don't do it all for you. It's ultimately up to the individual to recognize their own faults, and accept the help to change it.
On another note, I wish there was an ignore feature on here. Kids must have gotten bored laughing at holocaust pictures for the day so they decide to get their fix by laughing at this couple. Unfortunately, being the internet, I'm not shocked these kids are out there, I just wish Destructoid would have a bit more control over it at least.

You're missing the point. I laugh because it's easier than saying awwwwww like everyone else. It doesn't do any good anyway. It's great seeing how dumpy our species is and how we can so easily kill each other and the people we supposedly love. Sorry but its hard for me to have sympathy. I am NOT saying she deserved to die for cheating(nobody deserves to die unless they have taken a life) it's just hard for me to sympathize because I am disgusted by cheating.

The truth is we don't know what their relationship was BEFORE all of this stuff happened. It's possible he was a great husband/person and she *** it up and broke his heart; its also possible that he was an obsessive, controlling, psychopathic husband. All we know was he found out about her affair, bought a gun, and became extremely controlling AFTER that.
IF he was a control freak before the affair, then you get a divorce and move on, you dont EVER cheat.
I really wonder if she hadn't cheated and had just gotten a divorce if it would have ended differently...

The bleeding heart crap on here is killing me, mostly because I think a lot of it reeks like the phony crap people always feel they're supposed to say: it's sad, tragic, terrible, they're in my prayers, etc. I mean, who here even personally knew them? Moreover, despite how civilized people think they are, it's in us all to kill, and I'm sure there are a lot of men in the world who would kill themselves if they were in a simliar situation. This guy just took it one step further. Furthermore, it disturbs me that so few people had the nuts to post either a neutral comment or something that went against the grain. Did she deserve it for cheating or was the guy a nut-job who should "burn in hell"? Or maybe they're both sad victims? It all depends on your value set and point of view. Personally, I felt some sympathy for her up until I learned about her cheating.

The issue isn't EVEN their marital problems. I don't care if they fought over their marriage or over a game of Texas hold 'em, the bottom line is, he murdered her and offed himself. While the act of murder is unforgivable I won't condemn the husband although I will say he's a prick for doing it. Who knows what really happened behind the scenes and how it ended up this way but they both fucked up and it's a shame that they never could recover from their mistakes.
