According to the NDP, North American estimates put the Xbox 360 on top for the holiday season, beating out the next-gen offerings of the Wii and PlayStation 3. Though, to be fair, neither the Wii nor PS3 had enough units out there to really compete. Still, it's a good sign that some people are aware that the 360 is the only real next-gen choice right now ... or we can say current gen now, right?
According to NDP, the Xbox 360 sold 2 million units followed by the Nintendo Wii which managed to shift 1.8 million. PS3 meanwhile, presumably still suffering from an on-going hardware drought, only managed to shift 750,000 units.
It's got the best games, the best online service, and the best bang for your buck. If you don't have a 360 yet, then what are you waiting for? My Rainbow Six Vegas gun is waiting to blow you away.

thats my attempt at ignorant flaming, but is it really a race when neither of the other competitors have legs to stand on yet? next xmas will set the pace, in the mean time, i have chainsaws to rev and heads to squish.
2 Million is impressive, but they didn't reach their 10 Million goal by end of 2006!

Its awesome, Im a skater who can appretiate project 8, and during these cold winter months, its a hell of alot nicer to look at on the Next-gen consoles, I threw out my copy of THUG.

#2 Not enough games. Sorry, but this is from my point of view. I've beaten Oblivion and Vegas on my PC and played both Dead Rising and Saint's Row and didn't like either of them. GRAW is just an inferior Vegas. Gears of War is great but not enough to warrant a purchase. I'll be getting a 360 next year when Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed and Halo 3 come out, among others.
It has all those great action games (and always will because it seems to get most of the good PC games), but I like the type of RPG that Microsoft gets. Don't get me wrong, I love Zelda, but Fable, Oblivion and the Bioware games are second, third, and fourth in my opinion.
Right now I am fairly obsessed with Oblivion.
Those typical turn based JRPGs bore the shit out of me. They are like reading a book, only the combat is less interesting and everything is ten times as ghey (and not in a good way).
