Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead has several menus, screens as confirmation photo

Recently, we were dropped some screens for the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead. Instead of the typical stuff like zombies eating people or people shooting zombies, it was a batch of screens showing off the game’s amazing UI. Feel free to stare infinitely into the beauty that is Left 4 Dead’s menus.

This marks the first time an Xbox 360 game has actually incorporated menus. Since the console’s launch, many 360 enthusiasts have complained about putting in command lines to start games, hop on Xbox Live, and even pick items out of inventories. With this title, Valve is doing more than setting the bar with survival/horror titles. The company is attempting to change the way every developer has approached game design since the great Martian revolt of 2002.

How this dramatic method will effect the industry is unknown, but one can easily see how it could possibly benefit the user. Left 4 Dead will be available in stores on November 17.

I'm assuming the difference between Play Single Player and Play Campaign is coop?

Also, PC for me.

@Scrixx: I think that the screens show all Single Player stuff, but there are several campaigns to choose from.

After looking at the screens, one nice thing is that they have an in-game Achievement menu, so you don't have to open up the blade and get taken out of the experience just to check Achievements. I loved it in The Orange Box, I don't see why other people don't do this more.

Thank God the screens are ridiculously tiny, I might've gotten some value out of reading this.

Official statement - 1/4 of all destructoid posters seem to not understand sarcasm when it is delivered in text form.

I put a lot of weight on the structuring and presentation of menus. In fact, when I first play a game, I always go through the options first whenever possible. It pisses me off if it isn't possible to set options without first starting the game.

Heh. Even for a console game Valve can't help but having a full page of video options. That's way more menus than your puny immature gaming brains can handle!

@solidgoomba: What I mean is that it's all a cohesive experience. The blade makes me think of my XBox Dashboard, but the in-game Achievement menu makes it feel like you never left the game. I don't know how else to explain it, other than that it's a level of polish that I wish others would adopt.
