Xbox 360 price cut ... if you live in BFE photo

It seems the Playstation 3 is not the only console getting an unofficial price cut forcefully thrust upon it like mutated genitalia in a Wes Craven remake; as seen in this week's Shop Rite special offers, the Xbox 360 Premium is available for $50 off the normal price.

This isn't nearly as big as Best Buy and Circuit City trying to give away PS3's for free to get the damned things off their shelves, but it's always the ma and pas that end up letting something slip before a big official announcement. Either this is a hint at a price drop to come at E3, or it's just a good deal. Either way I'm completely offended, Failure to Launch is worth sooo much more than $5.99! It's priceless, really.

I've personally never heard of Shop Rite since I have electricity and don't live in an adobe, but resident chalktoid Raspberry Jowels not only shops there, he's their grandmaster (of savings, I'm guessing).

And yes, that Wes Craven link leads exactly where you think it does.

Great, just when I bought an Elite to go with that 40" from that Best Buy deal a few weeks ago...

That free PS3 ain't a bad deal, if you've got $2000 to drop on a new HDTV that is.

Consider that you get the TV, a PS3, a game, a BluRay movie, and five free BluRay movies ontop of that. It's a pretty decent haul actually. Now if only someone could convince me that I need a 3rd HDTV and that I actually have $2,000 saved somewhere...

Oh, and that the PS3 would be worth the money.

I can't wait till cheap BluRay players come out and then I can stop all this internal struggle over getting a PS3. A cheap BluRay player would solve all my problems. MS? You guys planning on killing HD DVD yet?

@shoprite price...

There's a limit of 4 Xbox 360's per person, people, move along, nothing to see here.

Ohh! Giant plastic tubs only $6.99?! Oh, a limit of 6? WTF?!
They should change their name to RATIONCITY!

Nice job on the scoop, but I gotta find out where William Haley lives since he considers New York City and the Tri-State area a part of Butt Fuck Egypt.

@ william haley

My grandfather actually helped start shoprite after he got back from WWII, its a chain of supermarkets that are heavily saturated in NJ and more sporadically throughout other east coast states. sadly, i did grow up in an adobe. but shoprite did pay for my college and in a wierd sort of way is helping me publish my first graphic novel, which is awesome. I don't think i took offense to this, but i did just get out a long drunk argument trying to convince my roommate that Lord of War is in fact a bad movie.

Lord of War has a message, and therefore teh n3rds will always try to argue that it's a good movie, regardless of the fact that it is not. At all.

I live in LA, and therefore anything that isn't California, Las Vegas, or Tokyo is BFE to me. It's the internet, I don't have to make sense.

The movie is heavy handed in its style, the dialogue and script as a whole are laugh out loud bad, and jared leto is a douche (except for fight club or requiem). Everytime Nick Cage opens starts narrating, it gets worse. But I truly don't think its that bad, its just that my roommate, a professional cinematographer with great abilities, though it was perfect.

It certainly wasn't perfect, but I found it to be entertaining, enjoyable, and at least a little thought provoking. Heavy handed is right, though.

Haha, no worries Mr. Haley. Different strokes. I don't think it's necessarily a great movie, but still enjoyed it quite a bit. I definitely agree that the flick is heavy handed and rather melodramatic at times. I overlook that stuff because it has some amusing moments, nice visual style (the opening I find especially cool) and I find the subject matter fascinating.

And Jared Leto is definitely a total douche.

The subject matter is definitely intriguing, which leads me to not liking it so much. Simply because such an awesome subject is stuffed in a shitty vehicle. Its still not the worst by any means.

I'm one of those people who actually noticed and cared about the execution of the opening sequence and how unrealistic it all was (a bullet that ALWAYS points exactly where the camera can get the best shot).

Right off the bat I was like "Okay, this is gonna be one of those movies with clever ideas and half-assed attempts at creating them on-screen." Plus, you know... Nic Cage.

So yeah, I'm that guy.

Thats exactly where i lay the blame of that movie, william haley. I believe that subject matter would work fucking brilliantly if it was treated more like the bourne supremacy.

Raising Helen will last longer than christianity and islam combined. But it will eventually fall in a terrbly tragic fight with You, Me, and Dupree, simpley because Helen was outnumbered.

Talking about the triumph that is raising arizona, which has been a forerunner to such legends as the big lebowski, the man who isn't there, and o'brother where art thou? would not be nearly as much fun as running with raising helen. which i did. so maybe I'm just backtracking. but it was for the sake of comedy.

Man, Raising Arizona is total win.

I liked The Weatherman a lot too. In part because Nic Cage's character gets shit on the entire film, but mainly because Michael Caine is excellent in it.

@Mxyzptlk

I liked the weatherman as well, found it to be a great dvd watch at home. But more importantly, because, yes, Michael Caine is just amazing to watch and he was a great part of that film. And now, with the Mickey Caine in Batman Begins and The prestige, one can barely wait to see the win that is the dark knight. Interesting side note, i heard that the next superman is gonna be called "the man of steel" But seriously, price drops.

I actually had the pleasure of watching the wicker man after a couple of bloody mary's and some smoking, and man i that movie fucking hysterical. Just imagine Nic Cage riding a bike (not motorcycle) around, punching and snap-kicking women in the face, in what feels like a bad 90's horror game. Awesome.
