Anyone planning on picking up the sexy black Xbox 360 Elite or the stand alone 120 GB hard drive will have tons of content to look forward to.

Microsoft will be including the full version of Hexic HD as well as a bunch of gamer pics and themes on the Black Xbox 360 Elite 120 GB hard drive. The stand alone 120 GB hard drive will include HD game trailers, 3-5 playable demos depending on the region and several Xbox Live Arcade demos.

Hit the jump for a list of content.

Trailers:

  • Forza 2 customization and damage videos
  • Halo Wars
  • Fable 2
  • Halo 3 TV Ad
  • Halo 3 Trailer
  • Halo 3 et tu brute video
  • Accessories TV Spot
  • Wireless World Video
  • Holiday ’06 Accessories Video
Full Games:
  • Hexic HD
Playable demos:
  • Assault Heroes
  • Cloning Clyde
  • Geometry Wars
  • Marble Blast Ultra
  • Small Arms
  • Feeding Frenzy
  • Uno
  • Pac-Man
  • Street Fighter II
  • Lumines Live!
  • Zuma
  • Heavy Weapon
  • Lego Star Wars II
  • Lost Planet (multiplayer Live)
  • Madden '07
  • Fusion Frenzy 2
  • Call of Duty 3

Plus several themes and gamer pics

The Black Xbox 360 Elite 120 GB hard drive will also include the same content that comes with the original Xbox 360 20 GB hard drive.

Great idea to fill the drive with free content, but anyone who doesn't want the content will have to spend hours deleting everything just to make room for movies and such.

The only way I'm getting one of these is if there is some trade in deal where i give Gamestop my 360 for a couple days and I get the black one back with all my files on the 120gb hard drive for about... 60$ MAX. However, this is the Real World (Not the one on MTV) and there will probably be no such deal.

I got Hexic with my white Xbox and it held my attention until I got my Xbox live subscription going. What does that tell you?

Well, looking at all of this from a "I don't own a 360" perspective, because I don't, I feel like this isn't necessarily a good deal. However, looking at the current situation with the intent to buy a system, I am seriously considering going for this model. After all, if I went for the premium and then upgraded the hard drive, I would be paying a terribly high amount of money for this 120GB hard drive separately, AND I wouldn't have the extra benefit of having a system not too many people would have that is HDMI capable.

So, yeah. I think this is a nice thing to offer the people (like me) who overspend for this hard drive.

I can't imagine all of that content takes up an appreciable amount of space where people will go and delete it, unless they really plan on doing the downloadable movie thing...

Isn't that the point of getting the bigger hard drive? For the movie and tv shows?

Hmm..... Love the 360, but I'm not sold on this yet. Microsoft is putting themselves in a precarious position, buy building up their console (and price) to something closer resembling a PS3.

I sure hope this works out for them.

I would have to agree with HawtPawkitHero. I would love the ability to use my plasma's HDMI port, the only thing I have using one now is an upconversion DVD player which isnt that great. Trade in value plus cash plus a 30-50 rebate on an HD DVD drive would be the only way I get one.

I'm torn on whether I should get one or not. On the one hand, I prefer a white Xbox 360. On the other hand, I could really use the larger hard drive. I'm not in need of HDMI because none of my televisions will do above 1080i. It seems foolish to buy a new console just for a larger HD, but a $180 pricetag on just the new 120 GB HD is ridiculously expensive, so maybe I could buy the Xbox 360 Elite, take it's HD and sell the unit (sans HD) on eBay. I dunno, that seems wasteful as well. Maybe I can live with a smaller HD, I just really have to delete some videos.

What a bunch of bull. They decide to enlarge the hard drive now. What about all those that haven't got one. I personaly do not fall into that fold, but they already hancuffed themselves into not using a hard drive. At least SONY made it standard so dev's can use it to help games. Think about it. Dev's will never be able to use the drive to help loading like the PS3 will be able too. I will only speak for myself, but I have what I need, an XBOX360 PRO (?). An awesome videogame system. But theis is a bunch of shit. Plus, the only reason I got online is I'm pisses that Microsoft wants to demand money (er, microsoft points) for a fucking demo. Sorry pals for my rant.

The thing about the Elite that even the "omg microsoft sux" press hasn't caught on to- the really, really terrible and bad thing, is that the elite is mostly worthless to Canadian customers.

You see, the Video Marketplace barely exists in Canada- the only actual TV show or movie canadians can download is Viva Pinata.

So, you say, just make a US Live account: Except you can't use Canadian point cards on an American account. I'm not sure if the same is true with credit cards, but I heard it was.

So, basically, they're releasing a bigger hard drive so people can store videos, and if they release it in Canada, well, we can't download the videos that the bigger hard drive is meant to store. As it is Canadian customers would be spending over a hundred extra dollars just to get a HDMI port.

I dont know if they're planning on releasing it in Canada, but damn, if they do.. it's worthless.

I'm looking to buy a 360 in a couple of months. I'm guessing it will cost about £300 when it comes out over here in the UK so I'd happily pay that much for the extra storage. Not sure about the black though...
