XBLA version of N+ is cheaper for one week only photo

Microsoft’s latest Deal of the Week is for Xbox LIVE Arcade title N+. Starting today, you can purchase the downloadable game for 560 Microsoft Points instead of the standard 800. Money is being saved here, but I can’t do the math. My degree wasn’t in “Moonbuck-tology.”

N+ was released on Xbox LIVE Arcade in February 2008. People seemed to like it: the game has an outstanding average on Metacritic and it won, like, mad awards. More importantly, I enjoyed the title. It’s a digestible platformer with wonderful controls, physics, and challenging puzzles.

Even though 560 Points doesn’t seem like real money (shocker) it totally is. So, how many of you plan to whip out the billfold for this? Or did you already buy N+ eight billion years ago?

Every 100 points is $1.25. So every 50 points is 75 cents. So, every 10 points is 17.5 cents. So, it's six dollars and 17.5 cents. Which is retarded.

Wait, I thought Microsoft said they were using real money and ditching MS points. What happened?

As for the game, I haven't played N+ yet, and now will be a good time to grab it.

I recommend everyone download it, and spend the points they save on the map packs they offer, seeing as they are only 200 points each (the third one is free I believe).

Such a good game, too. I have the PSP one as well for when I need to collect me some gold on the go

I was not a fan of this game when I played it (on psp), it just felt like a crappy version of an 80s arcade game, I never got the love of it

Damn, they keep doing the deals on things I already own. I think that's like 3 or 4 weeks in a row. Ah well, it's a good game nonetheless. Thumbs up.

This game is great on XBLA, it can be sooooo hard but gratifying. I wish I had waited to get it cheaper, but then I wouldn't have played it for all this time...

I have 1360 Points, so this would be a good way to get rid of those stupid extra 60 points. But that would put me well under the 1200 points that I need for Battlefield 1943 on Wednesday, so no thanks I can due without N+. I didn't like playing the demo of it all that much anyway.

I wish Microsoft would put better games on these deals of the week. I know some people love the games done thus far, but nothing has made me want to buy them. I was tempted to buy Bionic Commando: Rearmed, but ultimately passed on it. The only deal that I bought was the car add-on pack for PGR4, which I haven't used it yet, so I don't know why I even bothered to buy it. I would love to see games like Poker Smash for half price, because I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

PEICanada, you definitely should not have passed on BC: Rearmed for 400 points. It's not my favorite game in the world, since I never played the original, but is easily worth $5. It's pretty damn fun.

Major Nelson just tweeted that this is now 400 MS Points ($5) instead of 560 MS Points.

I have yet to take advantage of these deals because they keep offering things I already own. At least the deals usually remind me to go back and play some of the games I never got around to finishing.

Still to much for a free flash game. Even for 400.
I think I'll just spoil Microsoft's buisness right now.

@Brandon Undead

That is an extremely annoying way to look at it. I am more surprised than I have ever been that apparently no one knows that 80 MS points = $1 dollar, and therefore the math couldn't be easier. Just take any MS point amount (560) and divide it by 80. You then have the exact dollar amount that it costs ($7). That's why stuff costs 800 MS points, because it's 10 bucks, which seems like a common denomination nowadays.

CalcPlus FTW.

I'll pay $5 for it. FYI. Math is hard for some of you. 560ms = $7

I enjoyed the hell out of the DS version but couldn't really value it as a $10 console game. $5 is a much better price point. Someone let me know when Maw goes on sale.

Odd sale price to choose, but a sale is a sale. Anybody who doesn't have it NEEDS to get this. Platforming bliss.

Speaking of which, I need to go back and try and improve my times. For a little while there I was actually a contender on the leaderboards.

They should have dropped it to five bucks instead of seven. I might grab it though.

Yeah, I know its a great game and totally worth the money, but after playing the demo, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Plus at that time I was saving my points for Big Surf Island, and I'm happy with my decision on that one, because BSI is awesome!
