XBLA/PSN/PC game Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 2 announced photo

Considering the success of last year's title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was a given. The game has been announced today for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and looks to provide more of the same as the first title ... just with more of everything.

Bad Company 2 takes everything that players liked in the original and ups the ante – more vehicles, more destruction and more team play,” said Executive Producer Karl Magnus Troedsson, without revealing too many details.

If you can't wait for the winter release of Bad Company 2, keep an eye out for Battlefield 1943 on Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC this summer. Taking it back to World War II, the game supports 24 players online, and three locations: Wake Island, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima.

Question: Is anyone out there still playing the first Bad Company? Does this news make you feel all warm inside?

Wow a real Battlefield sequel, and on XBL/PSN no less.

Bad Company was great, either that or the people playing it suck and make me feel better. The announcement made me feel very warm...down there.

I didn't like Bad Company that much...call me crazy.

I for one, will not be spending my money on another generic military shooter.

I LOVED (Love) Battle Field 2 but Bad Company was pure shit, they need to put it back on the PC in all it's awesomeness. I've been thinking about getting Battlefield 2142 or whatever it's called as even that looks better then Bad Company actually was.

Bringing the old Battlefield to XBLA is a great idea. They need to bring over more old school PC multiplayer games. If LucasArts did a XLBA version of X-wing vs Tie Fighter I could die a happy man...

Yes! Bad Company 2 is the only game that I absolutely had to have a sequel to from 2008, and the only sequel I desperately want besides an Uncharted 2. IMO, Bad Company is by far the best Battlefield to date, followed by 1942, then 2, the Vietnam, and finally 2142 (the worst Battlefield by far). Bad Company is the only game I paid full price for last year, and rightly so, it is easily in my top 10 games of all time. It is easily my favorite online shooter to-date, even over COD4 and COD:WaW which I loved online. If you didn't like the game, you probably sucked at it, because it is the best thing to happen to shooters in a long time.

I still play Bad Company when I've beaten everything else I own. There's still a pretty decent community on there and I've never had trouble finding a match regardless of what time it is.

The thing i like about Bad Company is that i've never felt so satisfied, in a multiplayer game than in BF: BC, knifing a sniper(that's been bothering you the majority of the match) in the back of the head and then retrieving his dogtags always filled me with glee.

Battlefield 1942 is my favorite game of all time, the hours that I spent on that game probably equal the total time I spent on Diablo 2 and Goldeneye combined (a lot of time). I think that Bad Company is severely underrated. Sure, the single player game leaves a lot to be desired, but if you buy a Battlefield game for it's single player element, you are a fool. The destructible walls add a multiplayer dynamic that just isn't found in any other current gen shooter. Add to that vehicles and you have a multiplayer experience that I find to be far superior to COD4.

Bad Company wasn't an awful game. I enjoyed its silliness a bit. It was only ruined by the super-human AI, actually. The online was OK too.

Surprisingly, the terrain and building damage wasn't a gimmick. It was actually essential to the gameplay. I just wish there was a crawl option. That could have made the craters made by explosives a lot more useful.

Holy fucking shit yes! Battlefield 1942 is one of the most fun multiplayer games I've ever played, and having it come to XBLA with the three best maps....it gets me excited in the pants. Is it sad that this is now probably one of my top 3 most anticipated titles of the year?

Shit yea!! Battlefield 1943 on XBLA. Hopefully they will add more map packs once they see how much people still love the game, but the ones they picked were perfect... Guadalcanal. Yes.

I do hope they improve the bot support a little bit though (instead of removing it), the co-op mode was a lot of fun in spite of the ridiculously stupid AI.

Bad Company on PC - finally! I've felt starved of a BF game for a while. But now with 1943, BC2 and BF: Heroes we'll be spoilt for choice!

This is pretty cool in my opinion, EA is making a return to the PC that should be better than that "BF:H" crap they announced a year ago. Is this screen shot from Battlefield 1943?
