Starring a Dr. Manhattan-looking fellow inside of a punk space suit, Capsized is physics-based platformer heading to Xbox LIVE Arcade and Steam next year. The studio responsible for the downloadable, Alientrap Software, released a few images and a teaser this morning, revealing its dual-stick shooting (of course) mechanics and interesting flashlight action.
Alientrap’s last project was Nexuiz, a freeware FPS.
We don’t know much more about Capsized other than the fact that mini-Dr. Manhattan is searching for a way off the planet the game’s setting revolves around. That begs the question of why heroes even bother with exploring dangerous places to begin with, but if we asked that, we wouldn't have videogames. Consider the question unasked.
Wonderfully drawn 2D graphics, with traditional 2D gaming. If you ask me, this kind of thing is way better than pseudo-3D retreads of games like Lode Runner on xbla.

Besides, I'd hardly say the actual mechanics in Shadow Comples are massive leaps forward from traditional 2D platformers - it's just all wrapped in a nice Unreal Engine 3, erm, engine.
Whoa... BRAID, METROID, and LBP had a baby and called it Capsized! I normally don't care about Arcade titles, but this looks like endless fun. I will get this ONLY if it's 800 points.
