Wow, it's almost like having a PC or a PS3 or something! Microsoft, being a kind and gentle God, has seen fit to grace Xbox Live Silver members with FREE Halo 3 online multiplayer this weekend. This marks the very first time a gamer has been able to play an online shooter for just the cost of the game. It's a brave new world we've entered.
Obviously this is all tied in with the recently release Mythic Map Pack. Microsoft wants to show the benefits of a Gold subscription, such as having the opportunity to pay for maps for a game you paid for after paying for Xbox Live. With Microsoft, the fun never stops ... until your credit card's maxed out.
Seriously though, if for some bizarre reason you own Halo 3 and don't have a Gold membership, now's your chance to play the entire other half of that game you bought. Why did you buy it, Silver Member? Are you a stupid fool?

Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

nope just waiting for them to mail me my free wi-fi adapter I thought was coming with the system because they kept swearing this thing was next gen.
You have fun with your 5 exclusive titles, while I enjoy my X-Box and the many games I can play on it without at 30 min. load time.
Also, I've talked with many people whose PS3 just died. Sure, it may not be frequent as the 360, but it happens. Then you have to deal with Sony's helpline who will charge you an arm and a leg even if their firmware update is the reason your system shut down. Lets be realistic every system has its own advantages and problems.
I think having free internet on the PS3 is nice. However, I didn't have to pay $400-$500 dollars for my system. My controlers have a rumble feature. There are more games for my system. The backward compatibility is stronger. I can enjoy many games without a 30 min. load/install time. My Guitar Hero/Rockband instruments were compatible from the start. I have DLC. I can play Fallout 3 after I beat the game. Etc.
MGS4 is the only game I've played so far with a long load time (only between chapters), so I don't know where you get this idea that all games requires 30 minute load times.
PS3's die, however the failure rate isn't even close to the 360. Good luck calling M$ (within warranty) for anything other than a RRoD, they will charge you an arm and a leg and say that the error wasn't covered.
> However, I didn't have to pay $400-$500 dollars for my system.
How long have you had your Xbox? Your yearly Gold fees will make your console more expensive. Do you own any accessories such as a wireless adaptor? Xbox costs can quickly add up.
> My controlers have a rumble feature.
Yup, so do PS3 controllers. What's your point?
> There are more games for my system.
There may be slightly more games, but both systems are pretty equal with game libraries these days.
> The backward compatibility is stronger.
Yup, I'll give you this one (even though I own a full B/C 60GB). But so what? Hardly anyone uses this anyway.
> I can enjoy many games without a 30 min. load/install time.
I do every day.
> My Guitar Hero/Rockband instruments were compatible from the start.
And? They all work fine now so you don't get any extra points here.
> I have DLC.
Me too!
> I can play Fallout 3 after I beat the game. Etc.
Yeah, this one is a plus for Xbox. I wish I would have gotten the 360 version (I didn't have my 360 when it came out).
Most of your arguments are either misinformed or no longer applicable. Thanks for playing, please try again.
You leave my troll out of this.
Furthermore, I love when the PS3 fanboys talk. It's like watching the chimps toss their shit at each other at the zoo. One Halo thread and BOOM! they come out the woodwork like they don't have a system they could be playing. Life, get one.
