XBL hacker steals Halo 3 armor, Microsoft says 'what's a hackings?' photo

A poor fellow at the official Bungie.net forums is claiming that he had an Xbox Live account hacked for his Halo 3 Recon Armor, which was gifted to the victim by Bungie itself. What's worse, Microsoft is currently refusing to do anything about it, and the unfortunate known as Skyllus (creator of the Halo 3 suicide video) apparently even had Xbox Live's customer support hang up on him.

Despite Microsoft's claims of a hack-free Live, Skyllus alledges that this has happened three times in but two months, and this latest has even had the hijacker bragging up his sad work online. The hacker is believed to be part of the "o infamous o" clan, a group of the so-called "best" account thieves online.

If you check out the thread, you can see what a hassle it has been to get Microsoft to do anything about it. I've had to deal with Xbox Live's customer support before and I can lend my own testimony to how unhelpful, lazy and downright rude they can be. They've finally launched an investigation and hopefully something gets sorted out.

As for the waste of  sh*t in a bag of skin that is hiding behind the username of "I JaCkEd SkyLLus," firstly, random capitalization is the mark of all online retards, and secondly, you are completely pathetic, getting off on the idea of being "famous n*gga" because you can weasel your way into people's accounts. You're no different than the human vermin that we deal with at my other job who bail on the cab drivers without paying. It's a special kind of criminally pitiful that transcends revolting. Anyway, enjoy your precious Recon Armor, loser.

Best of luck to Skyllus.

has anyone ever scratched off numbers on their points/month cards and smeared them to the point where you couldnt read them?
well if you did, you might suck at life.

but the point is if you call support and give them the other number on the card they should be able to tell you the code. but they wont. wtf.

What a pathetic sack of shit

I have never had issues with customer support personally, but just looking at the situation you'd think they'd give him a new account with Gold for 2 months.

michiyoyoshiku:

Of course that's possible, but I'm inclined to believe him. It's not like hacking doesn't happen and I see no reason why they'd go to such lengths, especially as Skyllus seems like a pretty legit guy and appears quite respected, especially for that vid.

*sigh*

Know'd be cool? Destructoid putting up a banner calling this guy out for being the bitch ass that he is (like the whole Gurstmann thing). Low life piece of shit.

It pisses me off that Microsoft isn't doing shit about it. I mean, this guy has internet celebrity status within the Halo and XBOX community. He owns the fucking Recon Armor! He created those damn videos. Honestly, I hope this dip shit gets found and has not only his live account banned, but his entire IP adress and his credit cards. Whatever they can do (if they do anything) to get this guy off.

Wow. Reading that forum post all I can say is that this asshole doesn't deserve to be alive. He's a racist piece of worthless shit. The good thing is that they're trying to get the word out. It seems to be working because Destructoid has this story.

Also, upon reading that forum, the guy seems to be getting a tad frightened seeing as they've probably found the guy. He's offered to give him back the account.

You know I must have some luck. Any time I've had to call anyones customer Service i've gotten nothing but nice people that were as helpfully as they could be. [And 3 out of 5 were women which made it a bit easier].

people still play halo like that? lol.

I remember my friend called the support lines and uh...he started bitching and yelling at them. At least to the point they gave him some free games for telling him he could use a memory card to copy saved files, achievements and all that stuff to his new gammertag

I have yet to call any of those support lines and I hope I don't. I get tired of having to be rerouted to another country to hear some completely confused indian/african/arabian guy/girl who's just reading the same ole stuff in the manual.

This is Skyllus, just wanted to say thanks for posting this and helping get the word out. We're getting more and more feedback and a surprising amount of people saying this has happened to people they know or themselves in the past. And EVERYONE has complaints about Xbox Live support.

Keep up the good work guys.

If this gets a lot of press, then there's no reason why the XBOX Live team shouldn't push the resources into taking this lonely sad piece of shit out.

The guy's clearly an idiot based on his forum posts. He's bound to have slipped up somewhere. It also seems that Major Nelson is interested in what's going on based on one of the comments.

Frankly I'm not surprised. Unless a company doesn't employ entire teams of dumbass overseas call operators who couldn't give a shit about their job, ringing up and going 'omg I forgot my password' is still the #1 way to get into anyone’s account info.

I suggest you read The World Is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman before you speak such ignorant words. The fact that these people can speak a second language should be enough for you to give them respect. And to be honest, they have to deal with a fuck ton of retarded ass Americans. I can see why some of them are a bit on edge.

Also, there's no way in hell that any company gives you any information unless you give them credit card numbers, your address, and other crap. So, you're pretty much wrong there, as well. Thanks for trying.

@vexed alex: "Also, there's no way in hell that any company gives you any information unless you give them credit card numbers, your address, and other crap."

Bullshit. I can go in and draw out every last cent of my bank account with no ID, just a signature. And while MS should be asking for ID and so on, my point was that when you get a bunch of people who couldn't care less about their job they won't follow protocol (like in the article I linked too).
vexed alex's Avatar

"I can go in and draw out every last cent of my bank account with no ID, just a signature."

Then I suggest you look for a new bank.

Also, these people are sometimes monitored. They have to follow protocol by asking for your credit card information and your Windows Live ID and password. Can you also please explain to me how Microsoft can make you show you their ID over the phone?

And it's true that sometimes you may get a situation where the person on the other line may be a dumb ass and not follow the rules, that's humanity for ya'! It's not going to be perfect. So you shouldn't be judging every over seas tech support employee based on that. Fact as, what you said was ignorant. End of story.

It's good to see the shit hitting the fan on this guy. I hope for a permanent ban by MAC and IP. We'll see how technically clever the little Napoleon is then. Sadly, I don't think that's going to be the end result at all, especially when MS is involved. :(

Also, is there anything that can be done about the infamous clan?

Tighten the leash on your people MS and you know like most customer support companys don't you keep a log anytime an account is touched or even viewed by what rep. Just a thought.
