WTF: American Lost Odyssey packaging is extremely ghetto photo

The American version of the Lost Odyssey packaging sucks. Period. On the left hand side of the above image is the American packaging. It shoves three discs onto one spot and leaves the fourth disc in a little sleeve on the booklet portion. The right hand side of the image is the International packaging. The case is bigger and was designed to contain all four discs properly.

Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? JRPGs are known for their amazing cases (look at all the PS1 JRPGs). It's bad enough that the Xbox has next to no RPGs as it is, and when they do, it seems like they half ass everything. Sure, there are people who probably don't give a shit and just want to play the game. But in most cases, the people that buy these types of games are the hardcore collectors that try to keep everything nice and pristine.

None of this compares to Jared from GameTap review copy though. Now that's awesome.

Do you think the case for marvel ultimate alliance/forza 2 bundle would work and fit all these? I can just transfer them over to that case I have

Thta looks like the box I keep my bootlegs in complete with paper sleeve. I bet the manual is just the color cover and when you open it it's actually a bunch of takeout menus stapled together.

The way I see it, America is in a recession. A mothafuckin' recession! Money is tight and allocated, especially in the plastics industry. It costs a couple nickels and dimes to make additional plastic parts both movable and immovable. Thank the good folks at Microsoft for making this more affordable by removing the plastic with a piece of paper for a sleeve to making my gameplaying enjoyment more affordable. Sure we don't have big money like in European nations and glorious Japan, but we at least have a bustling economy in rich drunken white teen actresses. If we can drain their blood and tainted meat we can sell for high profits.

I think they figure, if its the average joe, he dosnt care what box its in. If its the hardcore fan they'll care and not only buy the crappy american version, but then go and import a second copy for the box, thus paying the big ol Msoft twice for the same thing.

I don't mind, really. Then again, I also didn't mind when Panzer Dragoon Saga (a four disc game) had three discs in paper sleeves and only one in the tray.

Wow their really is no excuse for this in 2008 this is just pathetic. Tho i would like to point out how sad and easy it is to get the fanboys up in arms i think i spotted a few posts mentioning blu ray and "no multidisc games on my ps3" thats funny. But it is scary that people are that damn lazy that you can't get up and change discs heh. But the topic at hand that is lazy and very sad for a product that costs 60$ would be packaged like that. I gotta call out the epic failure on MS's part

Honestly, I don't really care about the aesthetics of, as long as the packaging method they use doesn't physically damage the discs. However, from the looks of it, that's actually a pretty strong consideration here, and it looks pretty crappy.

Also, PS3/Blu-ray fanboys in an Xbox thread? What's that I smell? Is that some Internet up in here? Phew. It stinks like shit.
